As a performer who travels constantly, I see a lot of venues, and The Jousting Lemur in Bismarck, ND is a must-stop. I’m Jay Brian Comedy Hypnotist, and this place truly stands out.

The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, the crowd was incredible, and the staff treats both guests and performers with genuine care and professionalism. That kind of respect makes a huge difference on the road. I also noticed they do regular entertainment that's worth checking out!

If you’re in Bismarck, don’t miss this spot. I’ll gladly be back every chance I get. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Think twice before choosing to dine here.
The self-serve wine area is very poorly positioned. They placed it at the tightest spot in the restaurant, inevitably causing you to be in the way of any guests or servers trying to maneuver around the place while you peruse their wine selection.
The wines themselves are over-priced, making the tastings rather pointless, unless you want to sample a few single ounce servings.
Service was slow despite there only being one group aside from mine. And my food came out 10 minutes before my girlfriend's.
The Elk Sausage and Asiago Gnocchi I got was very good (unfortunately the only good part of our experience here), albeit small. My girlfriend got the Beef and Pork Ragu which was terrible. Much of the pasta in this dish was crunchy.
The music was all over the place with staff skipping songs sometimes after a minute into the song. It was also quite loud.
We ended up spending $87 for the two of us for a sincerely disappointing experience.
I don't usually write reviews, but I felt I had to let the future potential customers, as well as the business know that this place has a lot to work on.

Every visit I’ve had at The Lemur has been an experience that makes me appreciate having access to such a culinary gem. I’ve recently joined the VIP Wine Club and enjoy every tasting, the food and wine options are fantastic and never boring, thanks to their seasonal changes and Emily's wine expertise as a sommelier. Ryan and Emily have not only created a wonderful menu of wine and food, but they’ve built a true community for wine lovers. And let’s be honest, any place that offers Coors Light alongside an incredible wine deserves some extra points!

Lunch time.
Wild game charcuterie board. Elk sausage and possibly something else? No one working could really give us a rundown of what was on the board.(not even the kid that made it) Very underwhelming for $45.
Chimi garlic fries. Fries were crispy but over seasoned. Chimi sauce was good. Very light, if any garlic flavoring in the aioli. Forgot to add the shaved beef that is an option.
Pickled beet and goat cheese salad with chicken. Good salad. Nothing that sets it apart from any other beet salad. Not sure way it came out last. 🤷🏼‍♂️
Didn’t try any of the wine. It’s set up so you can self pour your own wine from different options. Not sure the process to do that. From other reviews it seems complicated.
Beer menu has been downsized to a dozen different options.
Apparently is used to be quite extensive with many more options then we were given. No darks, no IPA’s. Just basic beers.
Was really excited to try it out but didn’t live up to the 4.5 stars.
Service was meh. Too busy on their phone or just bs’ing at the bar. Had to ask for more beers and our bill.
Food was ok overall except for the charcuterie.
Don’t recommend it for lunch. Maybe dinner service is better. Can’t say we will ever find out.

My wife and I didn't have any food, but we love the vibe of this place. The wines were really good and the self server machines were really cool. The service was really attentive too.

I booked a reservation for their mothers day event and I was extremely disappointed.
1. Completely disorganized.
2. I had to go and find someone to seat us after waiting for 20 minutes by the front door. No one even acknowledged us when we walked in.
3. The food was cold and not refilled as often as it should have been.
4. Certain dishes were not set out at all
5. There was literally no one serving us. I had to get up and ask for silverware, find plates and everything.
6. They put onions in 9/10 of their dishes so I could barely eat anything due to my allergy.
7. There was mold in the berries that were set out.
8. I can't believe I'm paying $60+ for this experience.
9. Wasn't child friendly. Didn't have a baby highchair.
10. Staff was more concerned about staying in the back and washing dishes then serving their customers. I could have made a better mothers day meal at home that would have been warm. But wanted to treat myself since I haven't gone out to eat since before my baby was born.

We went for mother's day buffet. $36 a person. The scrambled eggs looked inedible, there were no plates at the buffet, the prime rib was alll gone at the time we up there,, the eggs Benedict were eggs in water that you took out and added hollandaise to, we never did get a caramel roll which was promised as dessert, you had to get yourself water and the jug was plugged with fruit so it took forever to get 1/3 glass of water, not to mention it took 20 minutes to even be asked if we wanted anything to drink. 5 of us cost $220 and none of even ate 1 whole plate. The buffet was set up right by door people entered the restaurant in. The whole thing was ridiculous . We for sure will not go back.

Owner was very accommodating and the service was excellent. The wine and food was fairly priced and quite tasty. Would recommend for anyone looking for a memorable night out in Bismarck.

Went for a special occasion and experience was so bad, we will not return and encourage others to avoid this mess. Arrived for 5:45 reservation, but had no idea we were coming and told to find a seat. Waited 15-20 minutes for menus when there were only 3 other tables. Waiter, who appeared to be shift manager, came to take our order, but excused himself because he had to go grab something to take order. While waiting his return, the lady behind us is complaining her pasta isn't even room temp. This should have been our sign. My wife ordered the Florentine with side salad put first and I ordered the Philly with fries. 20 minutes later, my Philly is brought out and were told it'll be a couple minutes on florentine. As we try to ask about my wife's salad the waiter shrugs and turns away. As I take my first bite of the Philly, I realize not only is it missing ingredients, but also my fries. So finally 10 minutes later when the Florentine is brought out, we address the missing ingredients, missing salad, and missing fries, to which we're told they will check on it. About 5 minutes later, a waitress comes to tell us the salad will be out shortly and that my order was put in wrong but was being fixed. Another 5 minutes goes by and my wife's salad is brought out, but I addressed that it had been 20 minutes since receiving my Philly and I was still missing ingredients and my fries, to which I was told that they were “trying to figure it out.” At this point, I just walked up to the counter to pay my tab and to voice the frustrations of our experience. The manager literally decided to let me have it about how he's part time and not sure what's going on (this was our waiter) and that they were one person short up front and two new cooks and he wasn't sure “what the f*ck I expected.” They removed my Philly and the fries I never received from the tab, I gladly paid for my wife's meal and we couldn't get out of there fast enough. Special Occasion reservation...

Forget the typical date night, check out the Lemur and surprise that special someone in your life! My wife admitted to me that she would have dumped me if it wasn't for our first date here. The food is diverse - seafood from North Dakota's many oceans, Napa Valley wines from ND's many Napa Valleys, and exotic dishes from ND's many jungles. Exotic fruit-infused-water on tap will take your taste buds over the edge. Entertainment that you usually only see at the Fargodome. You just can't go wrong!
