Had a good time at the Tavern while on a work trip. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The toasted and seasoned buttered bread was amazing, I could've eaten 10 plates of that. I went with the Wagyu Stroganoff, only because it was literally less expensive than the grilled chicken caesar I was going to get (which is kinda crazy). The wagyu was ok, the noodles and sauces were good. It's not that they cooked anything incorrectly, I just don't think wagyu is made to be cooked more than medium-rare at best. When you strip it and place in a stroganoff, you inevitably over cook it. I'm not saying steer clear, it's still 4 stars, just not 5. I will choose a different dish next time I'm up there.

Picked up a byo salad to treat myself for my birthday. The lettuce was spoiled, they forgot the blue cheese crumbles, and the artichokes were so mushy and disgusting I was afraid to eat them. With tip, my salad was $25 in the trash. It was a to go order or I would have sent it back. Only positive was my order was super fast, probably because they didn't care that it was nasty.

Food was absolutely amazing. The Uffda burger was absolutely amazing and worth every penny. The other members in our party had the same experience with their food. Walleye strips were excellent, plentiful, and the French dip was more than enough for two people to share. Our waiter was very quiet, we did have to ask for a drink for refills, but he accommodated very quickly.

I am not a regular, but I have noticed an overall decline in customers over the last couple years. This was very apparent on my last visit. Menu items were removed prices seemingly increased. I felt like I was definitely paying at the max value for what I received....Then I found out there was a surcharge for using a credit card? I just have a feeling they are struggling financially and the CC fee reiterated my thoughts. I am guessing that was my last visit. Gave a flashbacks to the Minerva's days. RIP

We were confused how the restaurant was practically empty at 7 on on a Saturday but after being so disappointed with our visit from start to finish, it makes sense. Running out of items is disappointing, but understandable. I wish she'd known what was out from the start before we had our hearts set on several things. What's not understandable is not checking on your table for more than 20 minutes at a time, letting their drinks run dry, failing to know your menu for the day and blaming others for not updating or acknowledging you just forgot to put their order in correctly and then bringing us mushy over cooked brown rice as a replacement. Food service is a dynamic and difficult job but there's ways to explain issues like this with grace and our waitress had no business being in a customer facing position. The table near us wasn't handled any better from what we saw. I'm not sure how there's so many good reviews our food was mediocre at best and our waitress was beyond disinterested in being there. She spent longer eating her food behind the glass wall and checking her phone than she did at her tables- breaks are deserved but someone else should've been tagged in or things timed better. We've had far better meals from our own kitchen and restaurants in the area. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Seems like a high end restaurant by the appearance, but the food was definitely lacking. The chicken ravioli had pre cooked chicken and 6 raviolis. For the price you would think it would come with a piece of garlic bread, but that will cost you another 4.50, the other dish was also lacking flavor and said wagyu was the meat in it. We have had wagyu in a lot of different states around the world, and this did not seem like wagyu. The drinks were cold though and the service was good.

Great menu choices, with clear markings for gluten-free and vegetarian options. Wonderful make your own salad with about 30 choices, from fruit and nuts to meat. Service was great. Atmosphere a little loud for off time of day, but similar to other establishments.

Loud and expensive. Ordered a side salad and it wasn’t even cut into pieces. Just long stringy lettuce. Tomato still had green end on it. Service was somewhat decent. Prices were off the chart ridiculous. Won’t be back.

The meatloaf was very good - I ate too much. They had a selection of mules on the drink menu, so I tried one of those. It was OK, but I wouldn't say it was exceptional. The service was very good. Although the server seemed new, he was not shy and was very attentive. The pet-friendly patio was spacious and comfortable, making for a pleasant outdoor meal. The bar also includes seating both indoors and out.
