Walrus in Bismarck is doing it right. Homemade bread, freshly made pasta, and excellent service. The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned with sea salt and fresh pepper, and the buffalo chicken wrap was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. You can tell they care about quality from the first bite to the last.
My wife and I love eating at the Walrus (or picking up food). You could genuinely point randomly at the menu and be happy with whatever came out. From pizza, to burgers, to pasta, it's all delicious and slightly more elevated than most places that serve the same genre of food. Ordered poutine and lemonade specialty drink, I never salt anything, so to me it was way oversalted. Host took some off the bill and explained that they use bacon gravy homemade. The bartendress was not social, barely talked with me, but had lots of conversations with other staff. Typical of lots of highbrow bars, not visiting with customers.
