This place is exactly what a North Dakota family restaurant should be... huge portions of homemade food... dinners served with soup and salad and bread. Coffee carafe and water jug on the table. They've done it right here! We just came back from a vacation out of state and this was the perfect welcome home. We will definitely come back when we're through Devil's Lake.

Cedar Inn is a family diner with wonderful homemade food, including homemade sausage. They also have lots of ice cream, like an old fashioned ice cream parlor. They have good coffee and they always make an Arnold Palmer for my brother when we visit. The service is friendly and the wait is never very long.

Food was decent, but the atmosphere was stale and the staff seemed like they’d rather be getting root canals. It doesn’t take much to make eye contact and smile.
Absolutely the best Salisbury steak I've ever had!! Enormous. 3x the size of a typical Salisbury steak. Came with corn ,mashed potatoes, stuffing , and a salad. The only down fall was the "salad" it was just lettuce. With dressing. Good people. Home town feel. Nice place.

First off I only gave 4 stars due to them changing their ranch, It usually tastes like homemade buttermilk ranch but this time it tasted like regular hidden valley ranch. Now on to the review! This is our go to place for our family of 4 in Devils Lake ND, they have some really good soul food, as well as a children’s menu for our two boys. Staff is always super friendly and happy to serve you. The restaurant is a big hit for locals so if you’re from out of town and want to visit a locally owned restaurant instead of a big chain this would be an amazing choice! There is a big parking lot and also plenty of room on the side lot for semis or any other big vehicles. The atmosphere is clean and cozy and definitely feels like a mom and pop type restaurant. The food is always great and consistent and you get great portion sizes for the low prices they charge. Their specials are always good and on Fridays they have All you can eat Walleye! They also have quite a few choices of ice cream. Overall I definitely recommend this restaurant because it’s a very cozy place to eat and service is fast as well as having very friendly staff and they are always more than accommodating with our two boys. My wife wanted to add this note, they have the best chicken strips in town! Thank you to the Cedar Inn for serving us and we look forward to many more years of eating there!
Parking: Huge parking lot around the building, side lot that connects to the regular parking lot has more than enough space to accommodate multiple semis or farm equipment.
Kid-friendliness: The staff are always fun and accommodating when we bring our two boys. They have a good kids menu and lots of different ice cream flavors to choose from. They also have some quarter candy machines and sticker machines in the entrance. They also give kids crayons.
Wheelchair accessibility: They have quite a few handicap spots right by the front door. There is a very small ramp going up onto the sidewalk which is only about an inch and a half higher than the parking lot and the front door is level with the sidewalk so it is very wheelchair accessible in my opinion.
