The staff are so good at making the rounds. Everytime we thought we would need another drink or some condiment our waitress was already there. Mind you this was an hour to closing for them and I had my whole family of 8. Still the environment was comfortable and friendly. We will return.
We had a variety of foods. Prime rib for me, it could have been juicer but I accept that I did arrive at an hour before close. The bill was alot less than I planned for too which was a nice treat for me.

Breakfast all day long! Entire menu is available all day. Very cool historic building. There is also a small pub inside.

I’ve traveled the world and I think this is the best soup I’ve had. Great place to warm up too in cold ND winters. Perfect for hunter and fishermen.

The dinners are unseasoned and beyond bland the sirloin and chicken breast dinners have no flavor or seasoning and are just blah
best soups in the mid-west.

The food is great. And the whole place has a more 1980-1970 vibe. And i know some people don’t like that but i do.

Downtown Devil's Lake, best soup bar ever. Unique cafe!😋
We went in there around 5:30pm on 10/8/24 and it took 10 minutes for our server to greet us. We order cups of soup and she comes back with them and just throws our crackers on the table and walks away. We ordered waters when she greeted us and she never brought over our drinks even after receiving our food. We got up and left and didn’t tip. Not sure what the issue was but it was a very uncomfortable experience.

This seems like a really popular lunch spot here in Devils Lake. I come here at least once if I'm in town for work.
Nice classic diner. Nothing fancy, but the food is good, service is great, prices are actually surprisingly affordable.
With jalapeño poppers, a fountain drink, and a burger I think it was under $25?
you won't be disappointed if you come here.

I had lunch with a friend and we both ordered the tomato soup. The soup was so good with chunks of tomato in it! I had the club sandwich, and my friend had the Monte Cristo sandwich. Both were delicious. We both had to get a to go box. Half a sandwich filled us both up! Service was great and the atmosphere was very nice. I loved all the old black and white pictures of the towns nearby.

Had to wait a few minutes in line for a seat... Waitress took order without writing it down and food was exactly the way we ordered. Waitress was attentive but not overbearing .. she earned her tip. Place was clean and friendly. First time ever eating there and there will be others times it's rare I find a place that I enjoy eating at and wanna go back.
