Jack's To-Go & Catering

Jack’s family restaurant and catering was recommended to me from the hotel staff at the Hampton Inn in Dickinson. During a road trip I was determined to eat local fair in each place that I went to. I was told that the popular local food in that area was Knoephla Soup and Fleischkuekle…. Knoephla Soup is a creamy, chicken based soup with potatoes and dumplings , and Jack’s serves this, so I went to get some. Jacks is a take out and catering restaurant. They do not have tables and the do not deliver , but you can order as small an order as you like… I called and ordered a small soup. When I arrived and spoke to Ashley, she asked if I would like to try this other soup that they are also known for, called Barscht soup , which Oprah featured in her magazine in an issue called, our favorite food finds from all 50 states. This beautifully colored pink soup gets the color from beats , and there are small pieces of ham in there and it is delicious, both soups were so delicious. And they are also know for and do a huge catering business with fried chicken so of course I had to try that as well ! None of it disappointed. I was glad to try it all and it was well worth the short drive to pick it up. Ashley was lovely and the place is family owned and was established in 1971! If you’re in Dickinson, ND, this is a great stop!
