Every year when I get to Grand Forks I like Northside for their summer salads. To start with the waitress asked what we wanted to drink and i said how much is a diet coke. I just don't like paying a lot for a coke when circle k has a huge one for $1. Instead of saying i dont know but ill find out she was snotty and said i dont know the price of anything on the menu. i said ill have water. then she said she'd find out but she never did. came back later with menus. i ordered the fruited salad which she said comes with a raspberry vinagrette which i have had before and loved with the fruit. companion had the steak sandwich which she said was very good and looked good also, the salad not so much. first of all the dressing i tasted before putting it on and there was no raspberry...completely balsamic vinagrette. it had about 1/2 the fruit and chicken it used to have and smaller. the slice of avacado was brown and mushy. i asked the server about the dressing that it was balsamic not raspberry and she said all the people in the restaurant have said that too but it is raspberry and ill bring the bottle to show you. i said thats not necessary. i had honey mustard with a touch of the balsamic and it just wasnt the same salad as i'd had before with the good raspberry vinagrette. the next time she came to the table she brought a small bottle that was shoved in my face that i guess said raspberry vinagrette, i never said i didn't believe her. when the restaurant changed the dressing and the entire staff said it didn't taste any raspberry, why wouldn't they switch it back to the good one or find another. anyway i hope the server was having a bad day and isn't that nasty to all the customers. although she was nice except for those comments. Its a good place to eat but for me today very disappointing.

Good food, decent service and very comfortable dining but my review will be 1 star because the cuban sandwich on the summer menu is NOT a standard menu item and it will REMAIN at 1 star until that changes, it is borderlining criminal activity that it isn't. I want that sandwich available around the clock to warm me up in the winter, too >:(

I went there 2 days ago. I sat at a table and 2 waitresses were having a conversation at the bar. Business was slow. I was in plain sight not 20 feet away. They didn't notice me even though I walked right by them. I sat for a long time and got no service. I walked out and went elsewhere. This was unacceptable. I spent my $20 for breakfast and tip in another restaurant.

Tell you this much, if you enjoy a classic American diner this is the spot. Lots of options in grand forks most of which are always packed with maybe a chance at getting a take out order
I had eggs, hash browns,and cakes that were delicious and served in a timely manner. The service and atmosphere were great!

12 of us were able to get right in on a Sunday morning! The food was decent… Happened to find a large hair under my hashbrowns. The pancakes were large and fluffy! Service was quick and friendly. We would definitely try it again.

Ate here Sunday morning prior to our 5.5 hour drive home. Service was great, food was delicious. Priced a little high but that is everywhere you go these days.
