We stayed for 5 nights. Great accommodation & gorgeous food every day. Diarmuid was so helpful and welcoming. We will definitely come back.
This place is really a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. It is the only bar in Grand Rapids and pretty close to the only business in Grand Rapids. The food and service is great. The pool tables and shuffleboard table are free and there are also video games and some slots. There is an outdoor area that's huge with an amazing amount of tables, a dance floor and stage for a band. People come from miles around to enjoy this bar.

Fish &Chips Excellent as was Ceaser Salad Eating in the outside Dining area on a fine sunny ? evening was as good as we had for a long time Prices normal and service was A1
Fresh food. Clean. Wonderful atmosphere.
Parking: Love this place!
We ordered the scampi (€20) and checked wings (€10). The scampi was very average and came with limp chips and a bitter lettuce salad. The chicken wings were extremely bland, couldn't finish them. Nice atmosphere but a there are a couple of surly staff however. Will not be back.
€27.50 for a lasagne and a pint of mi wadi orange for my lunch . Never in my life have i paid this price for a lunch . Never again ill darken the door .
Great service awesome food an drinks an plenty of electronic gaming machines
The food was really good quality, well cooked and generous portions. The waiting staff were lovely and very polite. Couldn't fault it. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable.
Excellent
Had drinks and dinner in the Horse Shoe bar over the last few day. Top class over all. Friendly service, good food and friendly staff. Spotlessly clean in every area. Mags, the lady behind the bar is so efficient and so informative about Listowel as to what's happening elsewhere in the town and not afraid to promote it. We will definitely be back to Listowel and the Horse Shoe bar again. It's a lovely town! Top class.
Had grilled hake and it was over done and didn’t taste fresh just came with chips On the way to the toilets had a look at other people’s food and looked pretty grim to be fair. Service was good though.
Myself and my husband ordered a takeaway of 'Roast of the day' and chicken mardi gras which is described on the menu as 'marinated chicken breast on a sizzling plate with rice and fries'. I appreciate you cannot have a sizzling plate with a take away but the slop I got was quite awful. Bits of chicken with rice, courgettes and peppers in a slimy sauce. The roast of the day? If that was roasted that day in that bar, I would be shocked! never again, and they are quite costly also...
Myself and my husband stayed in behans on the 27th of Oct for 1 night .It was a last minute booking and we were not disappointed. Met Diarmuid on arrival and what a gent he was .Nothing was any trouble for him .He showed us to our room which was warm ,modern and spotless .Really lovely room .We went to the bar and had a drink and came back later for dinner which was served efficiently and with a warm welcome and chat .We had breakfast the following morning which was served by diarmuid and was really nice .Would highly recommend behans and diarmuid is a credit to the family business and should be incredibly proud of this wonderful place. Cannot wait to go back . Food was really tasty and very reasonable with a lot of choice .
