The Peacock Mercantile is truly a gem in Hettinger. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks are always top quality. They have rotating monthly and weekly specials that keep the menu new and exciting. I’ve seriously never had a bad item from here! The atmosphere is inviting and cozy! If you are ever in Hettinger stop here, you won’t regret it!
Dietary restrictions: I am gluten intolerant and the staff is always super helpful with helping me find what items I can and can’t have!
Kid-friendliness: There are several board games throughout the shop to keep kids and adults entertained.

What a GEM! My husband and traveled from SC to SD, and wanted to checkoff another state while we are so close. Drove over 3 hours and 200 mi. from Keystone, SD to Hettinger, ND. Small little border town, but upon entering the Peacock Mercantile, we were so happy we did. Dawn welcomed us at the counter and took our order. The turkey panini w/ avocado cream sauce special was delish and my husband ordered the chicken special. Not only is the food delicious, but there is a sweet spirit in that place. The decor is cute, quaint, and very welcoming. We also got to sit and chat with Pam, the owner. It was a great to hear her story and she is a testament of stepping out in faith! Hettinger, you have a GEM! Go support Pam and the crew- you'll be blessed you did!
