We worked in linton for a few weeks, and went to the grill multiple times. The service was great and the workers made you feel at home! The chicken and dumplings were not my favorite but everything else was great!

I'm ashamed to admit this is a restaurant in the community where I grew up. When we were seated, we were told she was there by herself so please be patient. We understand that it's hard to get staff especially in small rural areas. Someone brought us water and didn't ask for our order. Two local men came in about 10 minutes after us. Someone walked past our table and took their order. Another 5 minutes or so passed without any coming to our table. I went to the back to find a waitress and encountered the woman who'd taken the other order in the kitchen. She told me in an unfriendly voice that she was the cook and couldn't take my order. I asked why she took the order from the two men and got a snappy reply. We left and will never return.

The hamburgers were awesome tasting with cheese curds. The waitress was very friendly and kept checking to see how everything was. My second time eating there and I would definitely go there again!

I stopped at the Grill on my way to Deadwood, SD and I had an excellent breakfast. I go to the Black Hills every year and I always plan on stopping there for a meal and hearing the latest news from Mark.

Wonderful, welcoming restaurant with amazing food! We stopped in for the chicken & dumplings today - I've never had better. I grew up in ND but live out of state, and I've been planning my visits back to include at least one two-hour round-trip hit to the Grill. It's just that good. The service is also over the top; Mark is very accommodating and quite entertaining. PS: the blueberry and peach pies did not disappoint!

I live in Michigan and travel to North Dakota once a year to fill my freezer with pike. I had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful hometown diner 5 years ago. The food and service are great! The deserts are to die for! Not many small town restaurants make you feel like you are at home anymore…. This place does that for me! The owners make you feel at home and special! In fact, this place is on my list each and every time I visit the great state of North Dakota. Definitely worth the visit! Love love love this place!!!

I'd say any day to stop at the grill is a good day, the menu has a lot of great options, and the staff are more than accommodating to make sure you feel at home. The coffee is hot, the regulars are friendly and the owners are good people, one of the owners, Mark was our server! Tuesday is chicken and dumpling day, and Friday is German day-- meaning knoephla and kraut is on the menu. Also, be sure to grab a piece of pie while you're there.Vegetarian options: I was a vegetarian for years and don't eat a lot of red meat (though when you're in German country you almost HAVE to try the sausage -- no pressure ?) anyway, I stopped in last week, ordered an Asian chicken wrap minus the chicken and they were more than happy to stuff it with extra veggies and omit the chicken.

#ComfortFood - Hot Hamburger with mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. This meal brings me back to every wonderful memory I have from growing up in rural North Dakota and eating Sunday dinner with my grandparents.I took a little road trip off the beaten path and landed in Linton, ND at the Grill & Lounge. So many smaller towns in rural America no longer have a local cafe to eat at so this was a fabulous surprise.North Dakota’s small towns tend to be misleading in terms of good eats. The highest rated restaurants in this state are usually in the big cities, but there are so many hidden gems hiding around in the tiniest of towns that could easily rival and even surpass them. The thing about these small town restaurants is that they don’t really look like much from the outside, but they serve the most amazing food on the inside. This restaurant in the town of Linton, ND is a perfect example, and you have to try it! — at The Grill.
