I've been to the balancing goat a handful of times and more times than not I have left feeling like I didn't get the quality I paid for. about a year ago I was served avocado that was as hard as a rock even though I had to pay extra for it. I decided not to go back but recently I met a friend for breakfast hoping for better. I ordered a $9 smoothie that wasn't even filled all the way, even though I saw many people with totally filled smoothies. For $9 I expect that I'm going to get a full cup like everyone else.

My last time going to Balancing Goat. I would go multi times a week and bring my new friends and relatives from out of town because we love the coffee and food. I had an incident where I left my credit card at home after I ordered and had to step away to activate my Debit card that I have never used. There was along line when I came back so I went through drive through. Informed cashier I collect points. She had something against me right away. (maybe cause I left and went through drive through) Anything I asked she was short and moody. I typed in my phone number since i was using a new card. I didn't know what to do when it was stopped on the rewards screen. Asked her what to do next, (didn't want to mess up transaction if I took my card) she was in attack mood- We went back and forth. She had to make a point that the machine recognized my card so I was corrected her that it did not recognized my card and I had to type in my phone number. ( conversation was weird and at one point she didn't want to give me my food)- She told me I am always rude to everyone. --I don't get what just happen? (If I am rude then please help me and reassure me) not keep my food and tell me I am rude to everyone-I don't need to go back there if employees talk badly every time I come and order multiple items.It has always been difficult when I order multigrain bread, I forget and say herbs and wheat and some new staff members don't have the breads memorized- when they switched to a new system and staff could not help to confirm if I received points. Made a comment once that you use to get a free drink instead of $5 credit. Even when they forgot to make my sandwich and I waited over 30 minutes- I didn't say anything mean to anyone. Just I been waiting 30 minutes and I am still needing a sandwich.

This place is awesome! The smoothies are so fresh and taste amazing. The sandwiches are delicious and the inside of the place was beautiful and clean. Just passing through but this is one of the nicer cafes I’ve been to.

I'm serious when I say this, they have the world's best oatmeal. I am not joking. I don't know how you could make it better. I absolutely love their oatmeal here. Try it, it's affordable and incredibly perfectly balanced with a perfectly creamy oatmeal texture, an incredible crust topping with fresh fruit on top. It is a 10 out of ten plus!!!!!!

The Balancing Goat cafe has some of the most delicious coffees. They are well made, not burned or over sweet. They have many healthy options for snacks/food so if you’re trying to be good and still want to go out, there are options. We stop here every time we drive through Mandan.

Best place for coffee! Love that they roast their own beans! All of their food is fresh! I crave their oatmeal bowls and their smoothies are super healthy but also have such amazing flavor! Also love that it is locally owned!
