Cute little breakfast place! So many fun options for waffles and coffee! Great little play area for kids. The outdoor area also rocks. I wish I would have discovered it before fall.

fun spot for coffee ans waffles! Great activities for kids too!
Great local spot with a friendly atmosphere. Well lit and happy space inside, with friendly staff.
Food is very on theme, and quite tasty. The drinks have a decent variety of staples and specialities.

We ordered 2 waffles, they came out cold, took plenty of time considering the cook time on a waffle, overall the food looked pretty, but lacked flavor and execution

Love this local spot. I’m here for the Chicken and Waffles with maple syrup. Never disappointed and always worth the wait.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re in Mandan and haven’t been to The Copper Dog Cafe yet, you’re seriously missing out. Nestled right in the heart of town at 218 W Main St., this cozy cafe serves up waffles and custom coffee that are beyond anything you’ve tried before—each bite is pure happiness. They’re local through and through—made-in-Mandan kind of local—so it’s not just the menu that feels homegrown, it’s the whole vibe. But let me tell you what I really go back for: the chicken & waffles. It’s the comfort food of my dreams—crispy, savory fried chicken on a golden waffle. The kind of dish that makes you feel like everything is right in the world. Beyond the food, they’re perfection in the small-business world. Community-minded, family-driven, and serving with heart—this place shines because of the people behind it. Love this local spot. Never disappointed and always worth the wait.
We were en route to Medora and were passed by a pickup with the shop logo, so randomly added Copper Dog as a stop for a late afternoon coffee refresh. Super friendly barista, good coffee and stroopwaffles (sp?), nice shop with some play space in the back for kids, my kids loved their Italian sodas, and got advice on stuff to see for our road trip! A+ lucky stop!

I’m very disappointed to say that this will be my first negative review i’ve ever put on a business. I’m a vender at Country Fest which has been going on since Wednesday. Before we set out to prepare for the event, we been stopping to get coffee at this coffee shop! great food, coffee, and service the passed few days. until today.. me and my bestfriend go in, placed our order, told the girl how to spell my name, and i pushed no tip on my card, but tipped three dollars in their jar. not sure if the girl even seen me do so because as im waiting, i see the two girls gossiping & the one side-eyed me.. therefore unintentionally showing that their conversation was about me(& possibly about my friend). eventually i received our drinks and food while my friend was in the bathroom and i see that my name was spelled extremely wrong.. and there was very VERY little ice in our drinks. and yes i know that it’s dumb to be upset about my name being misspelled and the amount of ice, but i was feeling weird energy come off them before that so i instantly felt they did it on purpose. finally, we finished eating, and as we were walking out my bestfriend heard the girls talking about “3 dollars..” which is the amount i put in their jar. neither of us are sure if they were being ungrateful of the amount i tipped or simply mentioning it. mind you, ive been a barista for over 5 years, since i was 14 and i’ll be 20 in August. & that’s not the service i offer my customers as a barista, cashier, or working in food sales. no customer should overhear workers having side conversations about them whether it’s good or bad, it’s simply immature. nor have my bestfriend and i felt so unwelcomed somewhere like that before. i apologize if i read the girls and the situation wrong. but from my point of view it was unprofessional & i felt this should be addressed.

This is my favorite place in Mandan, amazing service, delicious coffee, and the best waffles I've ever had in my entire life. Everything is reasonably priced, the staff are friendly and have great service, the atmosphere is comfortable and very nice, and they even have a map where you can pin your hometown. Absolute must go!
Just in case you are in Great Plains, USA, stop by this charming café. My stylist recommended getting half strawberry cheesecake waffle and half chicken & waffle with a Pistachio latte! It was absolutely delicious! I had to take half with me because I couldn't finish it all. LOL 😅

Went for the first time today and boy was it busy! That being said, service was fast, friendly, and much of the service was provided by the sweetest, polite little kids. I loved it. Great place. And you guys are raising some wonderful young boys!
