Every time we go, we always have amazing service. The soups are awesome and the servers and cooks are always so friendly. I recommend to anyone I can
Our manager called in an order for several employees. The meals were each labeled with our name. My croissant club sandwich and chicken wild rice soup were very good and packaged well for takeout. The soup didn't spill! This is a great downtown business.

My wife and I grabbed breakfast at Charlie’s the other day, and it was very good. She got the Classic Pancake Breakfast but switched out the regular pancakes for blueberry, and I had the Biscuits and Gravy with a side of blueberry pancakes too.
The food came out pretty fast, like 5 to 10 minutes, and the server was friendly. The blueberry pancakes were really nice, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, which we both enjoyed.
Overall, a solid spot for breakfast. We’d definitely come back for those blueberry pancakes.

I just want to say the service here is terrible, they treat customers with very little respect, and are racist. Also saying they can no longer serve, when the whole point is to serve customers with respect and treat others with equality/kindness.

Service is always good. Atmosphere is great as it’s always busy. Busy is not a bad thing. My reason for 4 stars is lack of flavor. Every dish I’ve ever ordered has needed salt and pepper at minimum. That good old Midwest seasoning.

Food was good. Be careful! Everything is extra apparently. Was asked if I wanted 1000 islands dressing on my Reuben sandwich. I said “yes please” as I was unaware it did not come standard. I was charged 50cents for a lick of salad dressing on a sandwich. If I want butter on my toast, is that extra too? My wife’s buttermilk pancakes were bland, so it was a good thing she asked for blueberries as an addition. A handful of blueberries was three dollars. That’s a third of the price of her entire plate. Asked for clarification on the breakdown of our bill. The server told us the cost breakdown, and promptly left without asking how everything was. When paying, I could not get the cashier to answer basic questions about historic downtown, as we were visiting. I am so glad other establishments were not as condescending. Is this how the locals treat each other downtown? Will avoid this land mine in the future as Schatz Roadhouse was amazing in comparison. I highly recommend them instead.

locals said this is the best breakfast in town. while it was good, it wasn't anything to write hone about. I had vegetable and cheese omelet..onions and canned mushrooms. sourdough toast and Hashbrowns. the Hashbrowns were crisp which is a plus, and the toast was tasty. I'd say it's more like a basic breakfast when your in a pinch, but I may be a bit of a nw food snob, so the locals might just be right about it being the best..go check it out for yourself! the atmosphere is kinda cute..like an old cafe in an old downtown. it's nice and open and light. bathroom is downstairs at the end of a long hallway. paid nw prices..almost...$50 for 3 adults and 1 toddler. server was quick and thorough.
