The Cafe staff is very friendly and menu has lots of options. The chicken fried stake is delicious and huge. Burger was delicious 😋

Step back in time in a clean, cozy, comfortable place with friendly owners who are bringing this jewel back to its former glory. The rooms might not be big or modern but reasonably priced and comfortable, if we had more time we'd have definitely stayed longer....maybe next time ?

One of the best places I've ever stayed! We booked a queen room online, but once we got there we realized we wanted something a little bigger. The owners moved us to a king room, no questions asked. There was no hot water in the shower of the king room, so they upgraded us AGAIN free of charge after spending a good 30 minutes trying to fix it for us. The owners were so accommodating and kind, and it really made our stay! Everything was nice and clean, plus the decor was perfect for a small town lodge. Highly recommend!

I spent two nights here on my walk across America a few years back. Super charming,; as if frozen in time. Prices were reasonable and the staff friendly. Definitely stood out on my long hiking adventure.
. I read an Omaha World Herald article from 13 Aug 2017. It was a great article about saving the Bassett Lodge and Range Cafe.. It is wonderful to read success stories.. I hope Dale and Mandy Davis are still going strong and enjoying great success.. This is not a review of goods and services, but activities and achievements, preserving important elements of the past. Food & drinks: The food was delicious in their Cafe. Unfortunately, they close at 2:00 P.M. & after that you only have a bar across the lodge for food . Their is a community room with coffee & a refrigerator to use . No room service. Also, the rooms need more outlets to plug in your blowdryers & flat irons etc .. I now it was established in 1949 but certain areas do need to be updated. Also, I would recommend some type of transportation service if you didn't rent a vehicle or have a ride to take you around .Thank you .
