Staying here felt a lot like staying at my grandmother's house sixty years ago. My room was small and sparsely but adequately furnished. The bedroom was carpeted but the bathroom still had original tile flooring. The wallpaper in the bedroom was probably original but the bathroom walls had modern tile. The lobby has comfy chairs and feels homey. There's even a bird in a cage. If your standards require an up-to-date chain motel, then keep looking. But if you're open...
Wonderful small-town diner. We had a delicious breakfast, excellent friendly service, and conversation with the family seated next to us. Would happily go out of our way gpr another visit.
Spent two nights at the Bassett Lodge and I’m still wondering if I accidentally slept on a cloud disguised as a mattress—those beds knocked me out faster than a prairie sunset. The lodge has that old-west charm with just enough modern comfort to make you forget the outside world exists. If you need real rest with a side of rustic soul, this is the place.
