Steel Grill was a convenient stop for us in western Nebraska. Not a lot of atmospheric, but the food was good.

Passing through town and thought we would try it. Viewed the menu on my phone before arriving. Ordered the Santa fe salad as it stated it came with avacados.
It came out with no avacados. I asked the waitress about it, she replied they were out of Avacados and asked if I wanted a side of guacamole. I could hear the cook/kitchen staff rudely mouth off about avacados with an attitude. My husband ordered the green chile burger, medium. Burger was well done to the point of crispy burnt on outside. Guess they thought he would not notice since it was covered in green chile. When we got the bill, they had charged us for the side of guacamole. I confronted the waitress about it and another guy came over to dispute the problem. Come to find out, the menu I reviewed online was outdated by several years, thus leading to false information. Good customer service would have taken the side of guacamole off the bill. It was a disappointing experience and we will not be back.
There were 8 adults 8 kids in our party and we experienced excellent service and food. The only disappointment was when they said they were out of Jack Daniels.

Overhyped AF. We spent $200 and probably won’t be going back. I’ve heard nothing but great things about this restaurant, so I decided to come here with in-laws for my anniversary. This was my first time at this restaurant, so I wasn’t sure what to expect aside from what I’d heard. We arrived at 7PM and it wasn’t too busy, tons of empty tables. We asked for a booth when asked if we had a preference. We were lead around the restaurant only for the waitress to discover there are no booths, so we got a table. Like, how didn’t an employee know there weren’t booths? We finally placed our orders around 7:20. The service was awful and the food was warm (not hot) when it finally arrived at the table around 8PM. My ribs were overcooked, but edible.
We had 4 people at the table and ordered 3 entrees and 2 appetizers, so the long wait was unexpected. It took several attempts for me to get the iced tea that I ordered at 7:20 - finally got my tea at 8 with the food. The waitress kind of checked on us, but no drinks were refilled by her, the bartender had to do that. It took 3 attempts to secure a to-go box near the end of the meal.
The chairs have seen better days, ripped seats galore, which surprised me because of the reputation of the restaurant. It wasn’t the end of the world, it’s just chairs, but honestly the small details like that can be a red flag.
While waiting for the rare appearance of the waitress, the poor bar tender was jumping in to check on tables after another table which came in after us gave up and left.

We hoped to be able to leave a good review for The Steel Grill, but our experience was disappointing on many levels. We ordered a steel grill burger with cheese $17.68 And was charged an additional $2.60 for bacon, which we did not request and was not on the burger. The burger was ordered well done, and came pink in the middle. Our waiter was not to be located easily. We ended up having to hunt him down for mustard. Then we had to find silverware. The Side of beans were room temperature so they had to be sent back to be microwaved. The second item was a kids burger, which was $10.40. The bun was about 3 inches and the meat patty was about the size of a sausage patty, but about 1 inch thick. We were charged $.52 extra for barbecue sauce, which we did not order nor was it on the burger. We waited a while for our ticket then found another waiter to get our waiter and still waited another eight minutes for our ticket. Our waiter offered us cheesecake on the house, but we explained we did not want it, We simply wanted a nice meal and our food as we had ordered it. (If we had noticed the up charges at that time, we would have asked him to remove them, but we did not see them till out in the car.) Due to the dishonesty in the charges, the average quality of the meal, the unavailability of our waiter, all with a hefty price, we would not choose to eat here again.

The food was OK, but definitely not worth the prices they charge. Our server was not knowledgeable about their alcohol offerings (they don't have a drink menu) so we opted for water. $40 for a burger and a steak salad. The steak on my salad was small nuggets, cooked medium as I asked. My husband's burger was overcooked and dry. Afterwards we couldn't recall if the server asked him how he wanted it cooked. Overall, it seems like it is a popular place for the locals and the parking lot was full, but it was a one and done for us and we will be in the area for a couple of weeks.

So I am new to the area and I've eaten there three times . Out of those three times the last two times were really bad we had hamburgers with sweet potato waffle fries and it was bad. Had some troubles with food the time before as well. Servers are pretty good but they're stretched thin the woman we had was running all over the place and didn't get to spend too much time with us. The burgers were really dried out and there was three of us and we each had a different kind but they were all just as bad and the fries that we had were all undercooked severely. For a ticket that runs around $80 for three of us to eat it was quite the disappointment.
