Stopped in for a late lunch and they graciously accommodated us. Food was yummy and we treated ourselves with some bakery items to go. Would definitely recommend!

A must-stop if you’re in Downtown Hastings for breakfast or lunch. It’s the best atmosphere and the freshest food. You can’t go wrong with any of their sandwiches and the potato chips with ranch always hit the spot. Locally-owned and we love it!

What an incredible gem, right downtown Hastings. We traveled through on our way to Colorado. This did not disappoint

The service here is consistently warm and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I will say, as a brown woman, I often find myself the only person of color in the space, and the stares from some patrons can feel uncomfortable. It’s not a reflection on the staff, who are lovely but it’s worth noting for others who value inclusive vibes.
Now, onto the food: it’s a little on the pricey side for what’s offered, but the quality makes it worth it. I’ve tried the turkey bacon ranch wrap and the flaming chicken sandwich both were solid, but I highly recommend the wrap, especially paired with their fresh side salad.
Dessert is where this place truly shines. I’ve had the chocolate turtle cheesecake, the pecan cheesecake, and a cherry chocolate cupcake. The cheesecakes? Hands down the best I’ve ever had rich, balanced, and unforgettable. The cupcake was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it had a satisfying heft that made it feel indulgent.
If you’re going to try anything, make it the cheesecake and the wrap. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Drove an hour just to be told they don’t sell what they advertise on menu - don’t waste your time
My fiance and I drove from Kearney to dine in for lunch and try this wonderful place and man was it packed! All of the staff were so nice and helped us with our order. Due to an unfortunate long wait for our lunch, we were brought a couple pieces of the peanut butter bar. (Its a must!)
We've been anxious to try their paninis as we have their food truck booked for our upcoming wedding next month. We were definitely not disappointed. They were so fresh, hot and delicious. Everything about this place is great.
We're so looking forward to sharing Backalley Bakery with our friends and family. See you in 35 days!

It took 30 minutes for 3 breakfast sandwiches. They served us 1/4 th a bowl of potatoes and said they were making more. A full bowl was sent out later during our meal. Bread was good. They should stick to bakery product's only. For orange juice, they served a bottle of blended juices. Check out the menu. Be aware, they do not have everything on their menu.

This is a really nice place for those who don’t eat exclusively plant-based. The look is nice. The staff is always nice, too. The menu prices are now what you pay with a credit card. There’s a cash discount. It was a pleasant surprise to see plant-based sausage. That’s about it for vegans though. I also understand that it’s also about the clientele which doesn’t request vegan options.

Got food going through town, it was a good bakery to go. Had some meals in a small fridge, a hot menu and took cake for the road. It was all good and fast.
The food is really good but their order accuracy was off.
We needed a vegetarian sandwich so (upon their recommendation) I ordered the Sicilian and requested extra veg, no meat and light on the cheese and this is what I got.
