Lovely breakfast & lunch tea spot. Took my 4 year old several times. We enjoyed the daily pastry & tea offering. Recommend afternoon tea, with scones and cream. Yum!

just had lunch there, and I'm very impressed! a neat little place in the historic Farrell Block, right across from the Rivioli. I couldn't decide between the sausage roll or a scotch egg, so I got both with a small pot of Earl Grey. absolutely amazing, and I'll definately return.

Have visited twice for afternoon tea, dessert, and quality time with family. The service was excellent with attentive staff. The tea and desserts were delicious! Highly recommend the chocolate decadence for my fellow chocolate lovers!

My friend and I stopped in today and everything we got was super good! We wanted to stay for the tea and treats, but the weather was getting bad. We will be back! The lady that was working the front was amazing! Very nice, helpful and friendly!

I’ve been here a few times and the food and tea is always wonderful. The pastries are delicious. It’s just such a cute little shop. It’s been a nice addition to Hastings.

We’ve had afternoon tea in London and this 100% compared! The baked goods and sandwiches are super tasty (the scone is perfection) but the best part is the staff! So friendly and helpful! Definitely make an effort to get here if you’re in the area!

Clean, welcoming atmosphere. Lady serving us was fast and friendly! Sandwiches were perfect for a quick afternoon lunch and the hard boiled egg wrapped in sausage and air fried was delicious! The cake I took home for dessert was amazing! Definitely a great place in downtown Hastings to stop in for a bite to eat and relax or get some dessert!

The service here is great. We weren't able to make a reservation but were seated almost immediately. We ordered the afternoon tea which was an incredible choice. Everything tasted wonderful. Light but enough that altogether was quite filling. The treacle tart in particular was delightful.

I would reccommend the Assam tea, it has a great strong flavor and paired very well with the various sandwiches and desserts.

Satisfied my every expectation and I will be coming again!

We brought our son and daughter-in-law to What the Dickens while they were visiting us from out of town. Had wonderful food and service. They can’t wait to come back to eat there again. The cream tea and scotch eggs were delicious!!

1- hard to find, couldn't see the sign from the road, had to get out and walk to find it.
First impression cute!
Waitress came over, told her water and we would need a minute. Said we had never been there before. But no description or decent menu was given. Waitress left and we waited awhile , I had to go track someone down to get service.
I ordered a clean tea and it comes with two scones, was gonna share one scone with the person who came with me , and ordered an extra tea. Instead she double charged me for two complete cream tea with four scones and wouldn't fix the situation and argued with me, when i questioned the bill. Very cute environment but rude management!!
$25 for two teas and four scones is absolutely ridiculous!!! Will never go back! What I ordered was only supposed to cost $11.75 plus I was gonna pay for an extra tea.
They had every opportunity while I was there to rectify the situation but chose to be nasty about it when I clearly knew what I ordered. So them going and posting a response thinking it will make them look good because there saying they would gladly see me again. They had there chance and you didn't fix it then. Just shows what kind of people they are.
