Went there for the first time a day ago, and such a great environment and such OUTSTANDING food! I have lived in Lincoln for 25 years, and I never knew about this place until recently. I can't go often because of my profession and their hours, but any time I have off, I am going there!!!

Great food but seems a bit like a place for regulars and our group of 5 was from 3 different states.

First time there, place was packed like 9AM and now we know why. Amazing food, great service, well worth the wait which wasn't very long anyway.

Very cool old firehouse converted into a cafe. We stopped here on our way from Papillon NE to Colorado Springs. Very friendly staff and our food was served fast and hot. Atmosphere was very quiet and relaxing. I would stop by here again if I am in the area. Nice breakfast selection

Popped in after a soccer game and 2 larger tables were available or we could wait for a 3 top. We decided to join the 2 people that walked in with us to get the bigger tavle and had no wait. Met Jan and Rick Evert and enjoyed a good breakfast and made some new friends. They love to travel as well so easy conversation. Food was as expected and service was low maintenance. Would go again if in the area!

Born and raised in northeast Lincoln. I spent 23 years in food service in 4 states 1st time visit was a failure. and The. " host" needs reminded its hospitality industry. wiping a table down is not walking towards the door. and greeting someone with a attitude of why are you here. 5 OPEN TABLES. and no need force me to share 6top with another set of guys. absolutely worst .... I'll never be back and never recommend. ZERO stars
23 year fold vet here. Culinary degree
140k a week revenue establishments.
And 1st time visit failure
As I came to the cafe for the first time there was no host. There were five open tables , and all of them were four top squares
I made my way towards the front breakfast.Bar area did not want to sit at the counter because of my back issues. So I decided to pick one of two open four top tables
Before I even sat down , I was approached by a lady with gray hair that asked me , can I help you
I said , well , this is a restaurant correct
And then she procided to decide that I couldn't sit at a foretop table. She wanted to sit me at a six top table next to another set of two guys who are already enjoying their meals
I explained to her that I saw no host at the stand I made my way to an open table since there was no direction, no sign of what to do and in the Midwest, especially when you walk into a small cafe.Type breakfast , place , you normally just seat yourself
I explained to her that I didn't want to sit next to those 2 other guys and share the 6 top table with her.She said , well , that's a two person table , I said , no , there's three chairs there and the gentleman are taking up the other two
There were 5 open tables, 4 top available. And she made the first experience uncomfortable. She was rude and needs to remind herself that she doesn't sell food
She is in the hospitality industry , and she needs to learn to be more hospitable
I grew up on cornhusker highway , I grew up in havlock, i've seen businesses come and go in five decades , and I promise you this , somebody like me who knows who I know I will never step foot into the engine house cafe again ,
and I hope you guys understand that you can't be rude to first time visitors
God bless to better service and business elsewhere.

15% gratuity on 1 person for taking food to go is ridiculous. I understand more than 4 or 6 inside but 1 and to go? Paying penalty for not eating inside? First and last. Average food.
Wonderful place to have breakfast.
