I ordered a gluten-free and dairy-free cake from Goldenrod Bakery for my grandson’s 5th birthday, and it was absolutely wonderful! 🎂 Not only was it beautiful, but the flavor was incredible💚 🦖💚 you’d never even know it was gluten and dairy free. Everyone at the party loved it, and my grandson was so happy to have a cake he could enjoy without worry. Got 3 different items here. A donut, brownie, and a peach coffee cake. Donut and brownie were meh… boxed taste better. The coffee cake however?… Literally was plain batter with not even a spec of cinnamon or other spices in sight. Zero flavoring. Straight sugar and whatever they used instead of flour. I’m not a picky eater, nor am I wasteful— but that went straight in the trash as it was not worth the calories. I don’t even think it was fully cooked. Honestly felt sad about it.

They have dairy-free, gluten-free, yes, but also tons of vegan options - all clearly marked. If you love pastries and desserts, this place is heaven. There are so many options! I just got a few for a tasting plate: strawberry bar, slice of Boston cream cake, cinnamon roll, and raspberry pastry. Also got pints of strawberry and chocolate brownie ice cream.
It tastes like they use fresh fruit in their pastries and it gives it a wonderful punch of tartness against the sweet. MMMMMMMM. The cinnamon roll was sweet and light - best bread I've had as a vegan, I think. But the Boston cream pie? O M G. It was all I could do to get even a bit of it home to let others taste. It was truly delectable. The ice cream was so-so: the chocolate brownie was definitely better than the bland strawberry which could use the same touch of fruit as the pastries.
The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, open, and helpful. If I lived in this city, I'd be visiting this place often. Delicious.
