We got the pork belly with mac n cheese and collard greens for sides. The pork belly had some dry and chewy pieces but the spices and flavors were good. They serve made-to-order fried chicken which take longer but are worth the freshness and good quality we'll try it next time.

I can't recommend Mary Ellen's enough. I got the brisket dinner with two sides. The brisket sandwich had a generous amount of meat and was made to perfection. Coupled with sweet potatoes and baked beans. Both of which were incredible. I also grabbed burnt ends and ribs. Both made perfectly. The owner, Charles, was up front, super nice guy, and very friendly. I would just say they need a sampler menu item to try more!

Food is always great, customer service at the front is always bad, after reading reviews I’m glad to know it’s not just my family being treated poorly.
We ordered pulled pork, Mac n cheese, beans, and fries. The only good thing were the fries. The pulled pork only tasted like smoke and was so tough, not even shredded just in chunks, and full of fat. The Mac and cheese was dry, bland, and grainy. The beans tastes like straight celery salt. The guy taking orders was so rude! Made us feel unwelcome and like a burden. The bathroom had trash on the floor and no soap. The bottles of sauce were all covered in grease and disgusting. None of the tables had been wiped. I had heard amazing things. But when the best part of the meal is the non-homemade French fries....yikes.
