Best coffee and pastries in Lincoln by far. They should definitely put the order counter back where they had it because now you have to get trapped in a narrow hallway to order and it’s mildly panic-inducing. There also isn’t really a good table in the entire place—not a great place to study or work. But the coffee and food are amazing. I think this may be the only place in Lincoln where the baristas can steam milk properly. And the white mocha flavor is divine.

I recently started coming to this establishment after the Starbucks on P street closed. I had been recommended this place because they had unique breakfast items, a friendly staff, and arguably, the best coffee product in Lincoln.

Most of those statements are true. Regrettably, one of them is not.

I have no gripes with the Coffee House’s products or baristas. The service was perhaps a tad slow, but I attribute that to an under staffing issue. It did not appear that there were enough baristas working at the time to properly keep up with the sheer influx of business they have been receiving as of late. I hope and assume that will change as they adjust to the new volume of foot traffic.

The service I received from the baristas was exemplary; they were attentive, friendly, and careful to make sure that my order was correct and to my tastes. I observed their interactions with some of their regulars and they appeared to have a friendly, first name basis relationship. Just the sort of experience you hope to get from a local shop you frequent.

I ordered an iced coffee with Irish crème flavoring and a splash of almond milk. Would recommend.

However, what I was less than impressed with was the leadership I witnessed while I was waiting for my drink to arrive. A woman who looked to be slightly older than the barista who was making my drink, started to berate her loudly and indiscreetly in front of everyone surrounding the ordering counter. I assumed this woman to be the manager.

This was a big turn off for me as a customer. Though I enjoyed what I ordered, this interaction made me deeply uncomfortable and I do not feel inclined to return again. This was highly unprofessional and the owner should know that such conversations should never take place publicly in front of a customer. Just some food for thought.

My husband and I were driving cross country and stayed the night in Lincoln. We stopped in at The Coffee House per our morning ritual for a mocha and latte before hitting the road. This cafe was BY far the most memorable of the entire trip! The coffee was excellent and service outstanding. As our coffees were being prepared we noticed the cromlettes so ordered a vegetarian option. These are made in-house by one of the owners and are a must have. My only regret was only buying one! The owners are a couple who take great pride in their business. I have recommended The Coffee House to several friends in the area and they have had similar great experiences. Give this place a try….you won’t be disappointed!!!

Such a cozy, welcoming spot with incredible coffee and even better vibes. You can tell everything is made with care from the drinks to the homemade pastries. I loved the friendly energy, the creativity behind the menu, and the comfortable atmosphere. Definitely my new go-to when I’m in Lincoln.
