Our group of four was escorted to a table for 6 people; even though there were open tables for four nearby and around us. When we expressed that it is a little difficult to have conversation for four people when seated in a half circle instead of across from each other, our waitress replied: 'that's where 'she' said to seat us'. No help to move us to a right sized table. We were at the restaurant an hour before closing on a Sunday afternoon. It was apparent that our selections had been prepared earlier in the morning. Food was just 'warmed up' and mediocre at best. Have always held this restaurant in high regard, but will probably pass on returning.
Our food was delicious and our server was friendly and very good. The restaurant was busy but we got our food quickly. Everyone at Green Gateau is very friendly and welcoming.
Menu food and wine selection was outstanding. We ordered the shrimp ricotta fettuccine nightly special. I would highly recommend this special entree. Hope to return sometime soon.
Great place for a late lunch. Good service, quiet, fun spritz, amazing desserts that we didn't have room to try. The tuna poke starter was terrific, fresh tuna and mango and vegetables.
Sunday brunch menu was vast, with all ordered items being delicious. Warm beignets started the meal, so good! Very fair pricing for the large portions. We will definitely return, as there are so many items on the menu we want to try.
We had such a great experience here! We had the crab cakes to start and they had the perfect crisp outside and tender inside. They were not breaded which I loved. I had the bacon filet which was absolutely so tender and flavorful. My wife had the lobster fettuccine which had so much seafood and tasted phenomenal. The service was great - our main waitress was so kind and we were also checked on by multiple others. We will definitely be back!
There were four of us and when we arrived, our table was ready and we sat right down. We ordered a carafe of mimosas little week on the champagne, but OK. We had two fruit crêpes and a French toast and a quiche. Everybody loved theirs. I had the quiche and it was a little dry. It could've had some hollandaise sauce or something like that. We all have beignets and as usual, they were delicious. We had a wonderful server. She did a great job!
We went for brunch, so it was a tad busy (and thus noisy). Our server was nice, but not as attentive as I would have liked given the quality of the restaurant and food. That said, I would absolutely return and recommend it.
Unfortunately, a miss last night on service. Inexperienced wait staff had her hands full with a 7 top and disappeared most of the evening. Wait time for initial greet was 10 minutes, no water served, side salad never brought to table until after entrees were being eaten and had to request the salad, and then it was the wrong salad, ordered a second drink that arrived after the meal was finished, server brought the check but then did not follow up for another 10 minutes. Ordered spinach dip appetizer and filet mignon. Food was good, but small portions left us still hungry. Excellent atmosphere at a restaurant we have enjoyed more in the past.
This was a first time for us, and we were there at 5:15 on a Saturday. We got in without a reservation, but the wait was pretty long shortly after that. So reservations are probably recommended. Our server, Reed, was fantastic! Reed was very attentive (but not pushy), offered suggestions, checked in with us often, and was an overall great server! We had 2 drinks each, both had steak dinners, and shared the peanut butter cheesecake (which was so good), and our bill came to a little over $100. Not too bad for such a great experience! We would definitely go back the next time we're in Lincoln.

Service was rude and unprofessional. We left. We had looked forward to an upscale dinner based on the menu and reviews and were treated poorly.
Love our experience here everytime. The food is delicious and the service is excellent and the atmosphere is so cozy like you are at home.

Never disappointed in service, food quality and attention to requesting a quick service before attending an event. Was a Saturday evening and seated next to a couple of larger tables, noise level was a bit louder than other visits, but we made it work.
Beignets were wonderful. Crepes were superb. Bloody Mary's were very tasty. Overall a great brunch.
Our food was great.service was perfect. Our waiter Elliot went above and beyond and answered all our questions. Also had great service from Kelli. We will be back! A friend who has traveled to all Big 10 cities for football, multiple times, told us both he and his wife rated Green Gateau as their favorite restaurant overall (of any Big 10 town).
