One if, if not, our favorite restaurants. Never been disappointed one any dish. Salad, amazing. Muligatawny soup, delish. Naan, to die for. All awesome.

Solid Indian spot that’s been around forever for a reason. The chicken tikka masala was rich and balanced, not overly sweet, and the naan came out hot and fluffy. Cozy dining room, relaxed service, and flavors that feel consistent every time. Easy place to rely on when you want something warm and satisfying.

One of the best restaurants in town. Food is always delicious. Service is always top notch. Beer selection is kind of weak but they make good cocktails.

Always the best Chicken Tikka Kadai!!
❤
I absolutely love this place. The staff are always super friendly and attentive. The food is always delicious and the moody atmosphere makes it a great place for date night. I also love how many vegetarian options they have and how varied those options are. Will always come back to The Oven!

Their real price is $5 more than Google price which supposedly was updated 3 weeks ago, but they told me it's not their website pricing which their website doesn't have pricing. How convenient so they won't honor the Google prices.
I consider this to be the best Indian restaurant in Nebraska. In operation for decades, the staff and food have never disappointed.

Our server Justin was great! We alway enjoy The Oven but he made the experience exceptional!
We ordered takeout for my husbands birthday, we generally eat here a few times a year for special occasions, and upon getting home and eating the soup I pulled a clothing tag of some kind out of it! Had the words ‘made in’, ‘cotton’ and ‘polyester’. Disgusting. We called to let them know and I was appalled at how nonchalant they were about it ‘could have been from our linen towels’. They only offered us to come in for new soup or a free soup on our next order. To be honest, we don’t eat there often enough-I have zero confidence that they’ll even remember our name next time, if there even is one. Sift through your soup if you ever eat there.
Wonderful food, great service, amazing wine list, tasteful modern atmosphere. We live 400 miles away but certainly will return when in Lincoln again.

Another awesome dinner. Been going since it opened. 100 times and my daughters pre wedding reception for 30 -40 people and it is rated #1 in my opinion. Awesome well cooked and prepared Indian food. Great service and wine!
Date Night
Downtown at a regular stop The Oven. You can usually get a table as a walk-in but made a reservation just in case. Our server let us know he was brand spanking new... first day on his own I believe! Speaking of new, I'm not sure if it was also the bartenders first week. It took 15 minutes for me to get a Diet Coke and a whopping 32 minutes for my husband's glass of Cabernet to hit the bar. There were other patrons around us inquiring about their drinks as well. It was quite lengthy and frustrating. Anyhoo...
We tend to go a bit overboard on starters here. Veggie Samosas for me and a Naan buffet. Garlic, Paneer Kulcha (fresh cheese), Spinach Bread, and Kabuli (raisins and cashews). The lady chef that helped deliver them to our table wanted to know if we were trying out things for the first time. I'm like No, this is just how we are 😆. She seemed surprised but tickled by it.
I went with the Chana Masala as a main. It's different here but I really like it. It comes with fried Batura bread but I like it with the Garlic Naan also. My husband likes to burn his face off with Lamb Vindaloo. He ordered extra meat and that bowl was practically overflowing! Got the Onion and Chili plate to mix in. This is definitely one of his favorites!
As is often the case we pretty much cleared out the dining room. Our server Mariano, while very new, was quite attentive and easy to talk to. The lovely lady from the kitchen earlier checked on us again to make sure everything was to our liking. I had to get some Kheer (rice pudding) to go. Can't go wrong with a Lincoln staple! 💜

Friendly staff, nice decor, appeared clean and fresh. Good food, generous portions. Cocktails and wine lists gave good options.
Food is always tasty. Favorite food is definitely their mulligatawny soup. They often are pretty busy as they are popular. Reservations are recommended but not always necessary.
