The best place around if you ask my opinion. If you want to leave full and most likely not be able to finish your plate, head in to ED'S PLACE! Second to none home cooked food.

A seasoned and large dining area with 3 different seating spaces stretched out over the footprint of the property leaves plenty of room for groups of any size. The food, classic American diner food, comes in good-sized portions and is cooked with the care of an expert. It tasted amazing! All the textures are right and the flavors distinct. The staff is very attentive and professional, with correct orders served promptly.
If you're staying or passing through, be like the locals and make this your go-to haunt for when you are hungry and don't feel like cooking. The prices are more than fair and you get what you pay for.
If I'm in town again, I'll definitely be eating here again!

We come to McCook often, and had been looking for some where new to eat. We found Ed’s place on Google and Decided to try it out. It’s a well established diner with a very loyal following. It was delicious! I was very excited to see Colorado style green chili sauce on the menu. Breakfast burritos was huge and very tasty. Table next to us got fried chicken for lunch and it looked really good. We’ve been back many times since our first visit and will keep going back.

Great small dinner to stop in for a meal. The food was great. The small town dinner has a great selection and would recommend everyone to stop and try. The portions are big and I feel priced accordingly. If your in town stop by for a great meal!

The best dinner I have seen in a long time staff friendly and prompt and made us feel very welcome. Refreshing to see many groups coming in and no one being rushed to hurry up! The food was amazing down home cooking. Best eating experience in a long time . Definitely recommend stopping and bring your appetite

Good place for breakfast.
Need to let people know that the prices have changed on menu. Ordered a chicken fried steak. Menu said 13.95 but the bill was for 18.67 without the drink. Maybe the waitress could let people know when they order not when the bill comes. Thank you

Benefit gone bad…..
“On 07/04/2025 Darian Marston, of McCook, lost his life in a tragic car accident. He was a son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend, but most importantly he was my granddaughter’s daddy and has an unborn son on the way. Abbey is the epitome of Daddy’s Little Girl. In the days following the accident, employees of Ed’s Place reached to numerous members of the family wanting to do a benefit supper. As this was a very unexpected accident the family agreed as we needed the help to lay Darian to rest. This event took place at Ed’s Place on 07/10/2025. Within the next couple days we were told the benefit had raised roughly $5,000.00!! Amazing right? We thought so too. However as days passed this money was not taken to the funeral home as we had agreed on. As more days passed we started asking questions to the employees with no real answers. Eventually law enforcement was involved and on 08/27/2025 they took $1,970.00 to the funeral home. No one has yet answered to us or law enforcement about where the other roughly $3,000.00 is or when it will be delivered.
We want everyone who donated items, time, money, and closed their business to support our families, to know this is happening and ask Ed’s Place to please deliver this money. Whatever money is left after paying funeral costs will go into a trust for his daughter and unborn son to help secure their future. We have truly tried to give Ed’s Place the benefit of the doubt and time to deliver this money. We feel at this point it’s time for the public to know the truth. We also went to Ed’s Place for lunch after the funeral and spent well over $500. We are hurt and confused by their actions and do not want anyone else to be mislead.
Thank you for reading.”
I ordered the Ed's Breakfast special toast and 2 extra eggs, $23.70! Money well spent, definitely will eat here again 😋 🙂

Over priced, food wasn’t anything special, no AC- hot as heck inside. Service was slow. I would save your $ and find another gem.

Came here to dine for Father’s Day and they were very busy of course. Waiters were very attentive and sweet, they had a buffet where they served very tasty options of entrees and dessert. I had fried chicken and brisket and mashed potatoes. The food here is very tasty and fulfilling, at affordable price.
