Over priced, food wasn’t anything special, no AC- hot as heck inside. Service was slow. I would save your $ and find another gem.

Came here to dine for Father’s Day and they were very busy of course. Waiters were very attentive and sweet, they had a buffet where they served very tasty options of entrees and dessert. I had fried chicken and brisket and mashed potatoes. The food here is very tasty and fulfilling, at affordable price.

Disabled Vet passing through town and stopped for lunch on Sunday. Seated ourselves then waited for twenty minutes for a server to order. After ordering chicken dinner, waited 40 minutes with no sign of food. We left with signs of low blood sugars to get fast food to avoid diabetic symptoms.

We visited on both Sat & Sun during Memorial weekend for brunch. It was very busy both days but we managed to find ourselves a table. The restaurant is obviously still being remodeled. Two waitresses worked their hardest to keep up with the crowds and were supported by one busgirl. An average breakfast was $15. The hashbrowns were abundant, and the coffee was delicious!
I was disappointed with the gristly & fatty top sirloin that was able to pass thru both the kitchen, then the waitress, and on to me. After I ate what I could, the waitress seemed shocked when I asked that the gristle be sent back to the cook. Literally, half the steak was still on the plate as evidence(maybe scared of the cook?). I didn't see the cook, nor did I even receive a courtesy apology. In fact, the waitress surprised me when she came back to advise me that if I wanted a replacement, I'd need to pay for another steak - which I did not ask for, nor did I want, bcz I was done. I just wanted the cook to be more aware of what she was sending out. Mistakes happen when you're busy. No worries, I had thought.
Then, on Sunday, late morning, their coffee machine broke. Seriously. In all my years, never. And the same two waitresses were still hustling. We received a delicious, huge pancake, 2 pieces of limp bacon, and one egg overeasy and the other egg yolk broken & overhard. I didn't say a word.
Unfortunately, McCook offers little to no competition in the way of breakfast restaurants. So, on our next visit, we will be sure to stop at the grocery store first and cook our own breakfasts.
The three stars are for the coffee, the huge pancake, and both hardworking waitresses.

Biscuits and gravy should never be that hard and crunchy. Truly awful. Biscuits should be light golden brown and fluffy. Service was great, staff was friendly.
