So I and another came in on a Wednesday at 5:45 pm. We sat 15 mins before our drink orders were even taken. Waited another 5 for those then ordered. The server brought us bread two of the smallest brown and serve rolls I’ve ever seen they were ok as far as tiny brown and serve rolls goWhile waiting for our food our server did not check back on us once. We got our food I ordered a 2 meat plate the pulled pork was good the chicken was beyond dry the corn bread was awful but the fries were good. After we got our food server never came back. Had to hunt the check down from a different server.

The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is because I've eaten here before and it wasn't terrible. I ordered a whole chicken, 1/2# of brisket, 1/2 slab of ribs, fried mushrooms and fried okra. The brisket is under cooked and tough, and neither the chicken nor the brisket smell like smoke at all. The chicken is mushy and it has little sweet taste to it... I'm not going to eat it because I don't trust the flavor or smell that I'm getting off of it. The ribs are just tolerable but I'm starving, so I'm going to eat them. Not sure if this is under new management or something, but I don't think I'll be coming back here again.

Good food, great service, but very expensive! When we saw the prices, we decided to split one entree. They also charge over $3 for a soft drink and $1.19 for refills. While we enjoyed our meal, we are not likely to come back due to the cost.

First time eating here, food was amazing for a reasonable price, the waitress was on top of everything and stayed consistent. Once you open the door the amazing BBQ and smokehouse aromas hit you instantly. I highly recommend this place for locals and passerbys.

The place has gone down hill fast with no paddle or canoe. Used to smell and taste like your grandpa's own recipe. Now everything comes out of s box, or bag!

Excellent food and service! We happened upon this place on our travels and we were not disappointed. The parking lot was packed when we pulled up. A decent crowd means the locals know where the good grub can be found!!!

This place is over priced and over rated. Ordered a half order of rocky mountain oyster and a burger. A bit later the waiter came back and said they don't do half orders. I said I really didn't want to pay for a full order ($14). He said it wasn't big and he'd discount it. Order came and it really was a single serving but in the end he only took 2 bucks off. They were ok.I also got the jalapeño burger. It was decent but nothing special. Pop was $2.95 and refills were 1.05. Got my soda and it was MAYBE 12 ounces! I didn't get a refill. You'd get cheaper pop at a gas station.I won't go back, which is too bad since McCook has a serious lack of restaurants.
