Charle's Pub is a great place with really excellent meals at exceptional prices. The manager also recognizes customers once they've visited and greets them personally. Small town friendliness, service and price that can compare to any restaurants in larger communities. We'll worth the trip ... especially Friday and Saturday!

Always a great time! The food has been awesome every time I've been here, and the staff has always been friendly and attentive. With the rustic interior, exposed brick, full bar, and quality American fare, it feels like it should be in Lincoln's Haymarket or Omaha's Old Market, not in the small town of Milligan. It's definitely worth the drive!

We decided to try Evening with Friends again, after waiting a few months from our last visit to their Wednesday evening buffet. The immediate previous experience had been a disaster, so we wanted to give it another chance. In years previous before last year's visit, we had always been quite pleased with quality of food, quantity, price, and service. In the past the dessert table with the variety and number of sliced pies and cakes had always impressed us. Alas, not much has changed from last year's visit. The meats, except for the fried chicken, were luke-warm. They were not as tough as last time; but, just the same, they were sub-par. The service was good, the waitresses were friendly, and the tap beer selection was not bad. And there seemed to be quite a few customers. However, for us, it was another sub-par eating experience at Evening with Friends' Buffet; we will not eat there again. One rather startling development was that not only was there no dessert table, there were no desserts period. None of us could remember eating at a buffet where there was not even pudding or some similar "dessert" offered.

First off the food is always very good and a very cool atmosphere with the way this place is set up. So why a 1 star rating? Went there again last night and our waitress was tweeking HARD on meth!! She was practically running in place and talking so fast she was talking gibberish when trying to explain the specials. Lots of crank bug scars visible also. Also our menus were 2 different ones with different items and prices. I went to the hostess and we had one old menu...no big deal. I pointed out our methed out waitress and she simply agreed she knew and got us a different one, who was good. Worst thing the messed up one continued to work and serve other people and was not told to go home, or fired like she should have been. If this is the business the owners now care, or don't care to project, we won't be back. By the way I have been in law enforcement for over 20 years and know a tweeker when I meet one.
Very good food, great service and fun atmosphere. Evening With Friends has a log cabin built inside the restaurant, which makes an already fun experience even more fun. Sunday and Wednesday buffets are great, but the rest of the week menu items are top notch with great steaks and burgers as well as chicken and fish meals. You need to check out Evening With Friends in Milligan, NE.

4.5 Stars They have downsized their menu a bit since opening up (likely to help cut rising food costs), but, the food on it is still very good. 4.5 Stars The Wednesday night and Sunday Brunch buffet with chicken, pork, potatoes, etc are 3.5 stars. They have their off days, but, overall it's solid. Especially for the price. Their Prime Rib is some of the best around. This is 5 stars. I heard they are doing a prime rib and shrimp buffet now every last Saturday of the month for something like $22ish. This would be great. Overall, the food is delicious and the drinks are cheap compared to other places. Tough to beat, especially in a small town. Very much recommend stopping by if in the area.

This is one of the coolest restaurants in the entire State! They have GREAT food and an awesome atmosphere. The place is modeled after a famous Redlin painting of the same name. It's an old small town dance hall converted into a log cabin haha. This is an amazing restaurant in a town of 200 people. They have solid steaks and prime rib at small town prices. If you're traveling through the area, take a detour to this tiny hamlet and experience one of Nebraska's hidden gems.
