Nasty!!!! Waited an hour just for appetizers. My meal was so gross I got it for FREE. Finally, (after asking for our check) 2 and a half hours later we got to leave. I do not recommend it at all....
Stopped in for a late lunch. Waitress very pleasant. Pizza came out room temperature. That was disappointing. Maybe next time.
The staff seemed fairly nice but I believe that may be the only redeeming quality here. It took a bit to seat our larger group but I expected the wait.
Two words: pizza and beer. Veer from that and your results will vary. Tried the ROAST BEEF & BEER CHEESE “PRETZONE”. Very salty.
I never really go to Old Chicago, and it wasn't a great experience. We got there when it was slow, before the dinner rush. We kept reminding the waiter to bring us things we ordered. They would go check on a few other tables then disappear into the kitchen for 15 minutes before coming back to the table. However, the food was great and was very quickly out to the table.
It can be a hit or miss on service. I've had the best servers out of any restaurant and also servers who give attitude and get orders wrong. Always enjoy their food though
Went to eat dinner this evening, restaurant pretty empty due to weather. Daughter ordered a pizza and I a sandwich. Server brought my sandwich 30 minutes later and explained the kitchen staff had issues getting the pizza off the pan so they had to make another one. About 3 minutes later a tall manager brought the pizza, he was rude and unprofessional. My daughter went to get a piece, it was limp, greasy undercooked, and not edible. They did take the pizza off however think the whole experience warranted a free dinner. Wish I could post pictures, as a photo is worth a million words.
Pictures are worth a thousand words. Waited over 30 minutes for a pizza that was greasy, and undercooked.
The setup and seating is welcoming and cozy. Went there one time and waited to be seated when there wasn't anybody else in line and not busy. The restrooms are hard to find, they are way in back to the left with no sign. The waitress was super nice to us and the food was delicious. I'll have to revisit to watch sports.
It had ok food, I can't really say the service was good. It took atleast 30 minutes just to bring out the check. And people who got there after me, they got there food first.
Restaurantji Recommends
Really slow for food to come out given how empty the place is. Otherwise food is pretty predictable. I do like the tavern thin crust pizzas though.
Amazing food, and great service!
Well just like all the other reviews I have read we were quickly seated and sat there while droves of wait staff passed back and forth by us as if we were not even there. At about the ten to fifteen minute mark we got up to leave and I asked for the manager , he seemed to be too busy, in a restaurant half full. The manager should be fired or at least sent to Cass St. store to see how a good Old Chicago store is run.
I unfortunately haven't been here in several years because of the last experience we had. We came in on a slow day, not many customers and plenty of staff walking about. We were greeted and seated pretty quickly. However after that we sat for over 15 minutes without any kind of acknowledgement. Wait staff and others had walked by our table several times without any sort of gesture that they would be back or any idea of who was actually supposed to be waiting on us.
Awesome food and employees and service was great.
