Ate here on a Friday night/car night. I had the Walleye special - it was perfect! Nice bar. Great service.
Big variety of burgers and sandwiches, including bison burgers. The staff is friendly and happy to recommend their menu favorites. We went on Sunday when they had the breakfast buffet available but plan to visit again on a Friday. There are car shows on Fridays and also Friday has walleye dinners.
Kid-friendliness: No minors after 9pm. If you're under 18 you need a parental signature to throw hatchets.
I got the Hatchett burger this evening, it was juicy and cooked to perfection! Fries were nice and crispy with a good balance of salt. There was a very large group (20+ people) as well as a couple of smaller tables in addition to ours. Food came out fast and hot, one burger was overlooked but they had it out less than 10 minutes after we asked about it. (And with as busy as they were I totally understand, especially when they told us they had only 1 cook tonight!) They took the burger off our check, but we would have been happy to pay for it. It was delicious and getting it out as quick as they did was honestly impressive! Good food, good prices, good people, and absolutely worth checking out!!!
Vegetarian options: Several plant-based meat-substitute sandwiches in addition to salads and other vegetarian options!
This is a really fun little place! Plattsmouth doesn’t have a lot of options but this place has live music, ax throwing, pool, darts, and the list goes on! The food is excellent with lots of options and great service. They even have a breakfast buffet on Sun morning.
Parking: Parking in the front and lots more I. The back
I hate giving restruants semi bad reviews... With that being said this restruant needs to revamp their menu. There was no real flavor. We have been here 3 times, and each time we have sadly had the same result.Good Luck in the future.
That lady has no more business owning a bar than Jared from Subway has owning a chain of daycares. Between the cement floors. Completely clueless about how to act in public Plattonians and what sounds like John Bohnam being mad at a kickdrum every 16 seconds (the axes hitting the wall WHILE SOMEONE IS TRYING TO PLAY MUSIC) and the food being a quarter step better than a Utah State prison, I can’t imagine why anyone has ever been there more than once. There should be a master class on operating a music venue and this bar owner should be an example of exactly how not to do it.
Best Burger in Nebraska! My Burger was perfect, had Brisket and bacon and a delicious toasted bun with melty Blue cheese…hit it with some bbq sauce! Did Axe throwing for an hour with the fam! Had a blast! I’m sad I didn’t see more people here, the highway work is limiting access to one of the best restaurants in town. Get out and support this place! We will return!
Very nice atmosphere. Everyone was super friendly. Several of the staff came to our table to chat with us. Also, they made sure we were enjoying our food. Went on Friday. They had a guy playing guitar and singing. So, that was nice. Fried pickles were great.
Vegetarian options: They have salads on the menu
Kid-friendliness: Kids can be in the establishment till 9 pm.
We had a blast! The food was delicious and service was outstanding. We haven’t had this much fun in awhile and my daughter turns out to be a natural at throwing an axe. Thank you for being Hatchet Jaxx to P town! I hope folks stop in and don’t let the highway work stop ya, it’s well worth a visit and return visits.
I would have given a 5 star rating if the service would of been better but one of our meals were forgotten while everyone else was eating. Also, drinks sat empty multiple times throughout the night and had to wait a long time for condiments that were requested. They were not busy that night, had live music and I think about 5 tables. Other than that they were friendly and the food on the other hand was amazing! I ordered the Pork Tenderloin and it was a good sized tenderloin on a very tasty bun. The coating on it was nice and thin and crispy. We also ordered the Hatch Burger and she said it was better than what we got down in AZ. We also ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad and when it finally came out, she loved it and there was plenty of Chicken and Blue Cheese. Just wished they had some other lettuce on there besides Iceberg. Music was great and atmosphere was good. We will be back to give them another chance on the service.

I’ve been here a few times but today I finally tried the Sunday breakfast buffet and can give my full thoughts. The burgers here are great thick and juicy with a great selection, the appetizers are bomb but the one that stole the shine from the rest were the cheese curds crazy I know as for the buffet it’s definitely a don’t skip the price is good but the food is great especially if you want a hearty breakfast or a fan of a beautifully done biscuits and gravy. And last but certainly not least this place has some of the nicest people you will ever meet!10/10 would recommend
I'm so sorry for this. I hate giving small businesses bad reviews. The food was not good. The atmosphere was terrible. It baffles me to think that someone thought combining a sit down restaurant with an axe throwing bar was a good idea. Please rethink your business model and try again, this is not good.
Staff is friendly and make everyone feel at home. Food was great. Always save room for the tarts!
Parking: Right by entrance.
Started off okay. The waitress was great and very patience with us. The food was okay and way over peppered. The Mac and cheese was Luke warm and the chicken fried steak was the size of a chicken patty and forgot the gravy was forgotten. The food is way too over priced for what you get and how it tastes. When axe throwing our group felt uncomfortable as the lady was standing there watching us the entire time and giving us unwanted tips when we were just trying to enjoy our time there. Do not recommend.
Our first experience. Food was good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the axe throwing. Good way to spend a few hours.
