I do enjoy Hyvee very much. Frequent customers of the shadow lake Hyvee very rarely use the plattsmouth one and definitely never will again.
There are always employees just around talking doing nothing and if you bother them with a question they immediately get disturbed by it and or helping you find it or they just blatantly don’t help. Yesterday was the 3rd time this has happened. First the liquor area gentleman just said if it isn’t on the shelf we don’t have it but the store may and sent me in there and didn’t want to help me look for it at all so then I proceeded to the front to ask for help where 5 employees were standing chatting I ask if they have what I was looking for or if someone could look it up and see if it is at any Hyvee and the girl proceeds to tell me I need to go to the liquor areas and that the front manager this was his thing I say no it’s not just for alcoholic drinks and the manager interrupts both of us and I also say I’m not needing to check out liquor it’s a syrup he then proceeds to tell me to go back to the liquor were even though I had already said they sent me out I say it again he then gets huffy and points me to aisle 6 drinks mixes I said well it’s not really a mix and he gets huffy and says I guess I’ll take you there he proceeds to walk me down the aisle and then puts me in front of mio drink mixes and I don’t see the flavor and I really want the syrup he just walks away so I get back online and try to find it and the Hyvee app is kinda junk to so go to Walmart and see where there’s is and they keep there’s in the coffee aisle so I go to the coffee aisle and boom there it is. I head to the front happy I found it I say it was in the coffee aisle so he knew where it was if someone asked and since I had to help myself due to the unwillingness of employees thanks a lot I guess.
He then decided to say good for you so proud of you lady from the front loudly
Yeah what!! I then turn around and ask him is that how he speaks to customers? Then he tries to I don’t know assert his manhood and come around the check out and cross his arms telling me that I need to leave and puff up his chest like he was allowed to speak to people like that especially after I asked for a manager and he claimed he was the manager and I was like your the only manager and he responded with yep and walked around like he well thought he was going to do something ok tough guy ;) I’m shaking mad at this point gross men behaving like that. As I leave the actual manager stopped me which is crazy since Kyle the front end manager said he was it and lied hmm odd.
But the store manager Stops me and a lovely lady stopped me and asked if they could help or fix anything yeah get rid of Kyle since he obviously has zero work ethic and or skills to be a manager or how to deal with customers and or do his job and help customers!! This is the 3rd time going into this Hyvee where I have asked for help and it’s either met with disgust because they have to help or do something or they just don’t help at all and say if it isn’t on the shelf we don’t have it.
I will say I have had some great experiences here to the cheese dept guy there are a few of them and the wonderful lady who was able to order me the burrata to that store was phenomenal and the food department always awesome
I guess the skills to be a front end manager are minimal because Kyle displayed minimal and I feel sad for others in his presence if he thinks he can act like that not only to customers but towards women. You are a front end manager at Hyvee calm down buddy.
Sad that Hyvee has this one store that has these issues. I have been going to many Hyvee as in the metro area and this has been the only one where I have ever had any issues with customer service at the frequency level I have.

Really love HY-Vee but wish you would stop with the cell phone service interrupter. Perfect service everywhere except inside the store. Seems kind of dangerous to block cell signals like that.

It’s nice to have a store like Hy-Vee in little old Plattsmouth. Meat and deli counter, prepared foods, large produce department. My only and constant complaint is the bagging needs improvement. Squashing bread, bagging hot food with frozen, overly heavy bags. I actually place all my frozen and refrigerated foods on the belt first then the non refrigerated items then hot food last. Still the frozen items are bagged with non refrigerated items. I always have to tell the checker to bag the bread separately otherwise it will be squashed with a heavy item in the bag. I shop many grocery stores in the Omaha area since I work there and by far the Plattsmouth Hy-Vee has the worst baggers. I would like to bag my own groceries if they would let me or maybe management could give the employees a class on proper bagging.

Hy-Vee market place grill in plattsmouth has the best food around! It’s cooked to order and is always fresh and hot! It is also fairly priced and leaves you feeling full for the price. My fiancée and I always come here on date night because of the food and the atmosphere. I only gave it four stars because sometimes the servers forget we are there or forget to give us our food.
