I lived in the area when it opened in 1985. While it was never my favorite, it was in the top ten. I suspect that my expectations are influenced by my travels but I was disappointed. However, the carne asada was very good, I highly recommend. The combination plate had no variation of taste. The taco texture was good but that is its only strength. The queso has me perplexed. It reminded me of Velveeta and jarred salsa at best. TDO was a miss for me.
The food is always great, and the service is pretty good too. Always busy, but yet it doesn't take long to go through the line or get your food. The only problem that is constant is the echoing sound from the customers. They need to install sound deadening panels around the lobby to cut down on the excess noise. Sometimes it is extremely loud, and if they have the music turned up, it increases the issue. But other than that, it's an amazing place to sit and eat a great...
I had a breakfast burrito here, and it was pretty good. There is not much to brag about in terms of service as the ladies working were ambivalent and more interested in chatting with each other.
