This is one of those hidden gems! If you’re ever around Seward, NE stop in for a great experience! Cozy surroundings, great service and amazing food. Recommend the everything omelet or the cinnamon roll pancakes……careful the pancakes are plate sized and amazing!!

Came here on a Saturday at 1:00. What a disaster. Incompetent hostess/bartender/server. No menus to offer us until others were done ordering. Slow service. She asked what kind of gravy I wanted with my potatoes, I said beef. Dumbfounded look followed by ‘is that white or brown?’ The other couple at the bar were commiserating with us on how awful everything was. We finally get our food- and yep. Hair in my mashed potatoes. No server around to even complain. I was so hungry I plucked it out, wolfed down our food and we got out of there. My food was fine (sans the hair), my husband was very disappointed with his. Only pro was the server who made our drinks, still somehow managed to forget to charge us for them.*Update--- I appreciate the response from the owner, and feel bad about being so distraught...it was just lunch, not the end of the world.
Cafe on the Square is truly a hidden gem. The food was “out of this world” delicious and the waitress was very attentive and friendly. The decor is very cool in a brick building. Highly recommend and will be back for many more meals.

The staff was extremely rude and unpleasant, which made the food (which was actually pretty decent) and the atmosphere (which is cute) a terrible experience. There were 4 staff members that made me wish I had stayed in Lincoln to eat. I will not return, nor will I recommend this place to others.

This place sucks. I took my family here to eat breakfast for my daughters birthday. Our water glasses were dirty and tastes like chemicals. our food was very bland.Once it was time to pay the bill i could tell something was wrong because it took a little long to get my credit card back. I made the comment to my wife to check our account on her phone to make sure we didnt get charged extra. Turned out we did. Our meal cost $30. And the other charge was for 50. When i asked the manager to fix this thats when I found out they knew about it and didnt tell me when my card was returned or provide a receipt showing they have voided that extra ticket. When I asked for the receipt I was told by the manager that she couldnt provide me with one and to come back a couple days later if the $50 Wasnt taken off my account. I informed my wife about this and when she went to talk to the manager my wife was told the same thing. My wife didnt leave until the manager finally did print the receipt and wrote on the back of it what happened with the double charge and she would pay it back if the money wasnt put back on my card and signed it. Seriously unprofessional and disappointing. During our time in the restaurant I also watched two other to go orders get mixed up and also had money issues. This place doesnt have a clue. I dont recommend anyone go here. We wont be back.
