Im changing my old review because James in the deli knocked it out of the park!
He truly understands customer service! The only reason I go to Safeway is to buy Greek salad in the deli. Sometimes they are out and I ask them which day I can come back to buy it.
James offered to make the salad at the end of his shift! Right in front of us when it appeared they were out of it again! As many times as I have come in and have been sent away to come back another day for it and then this happens! Who knew!!
James will go far in his job with promotions since he understands customer service!! I hope he is appreciated by this store.
OLD REVIEW Dont try to get HOT coffee at Safeway's Starbucks in Sidney Nebraska The Safeway Store Manager even said to me on the phone "We are not much of coffee drinkers in this town" when I tired to compell them to have HOT coffee available . I even adjusted my schedule to come only on the hour or half hour when they said the coffee might be hot sonce they brew ot on the half hour.
Well that half hour turned out to be whenever the employees remembered sicne the last time I asked how fresh the brewed coffee was at 6pm and the staff said "we just brewed it at 3PM, so its not that old" ! Then i asked her if she had ever had a coffee that was three hours okd and she said "I dont drink coffee, so it doesnt matter to me! "
Some of the Safeway staff even referred me to the hosptial for hot coffee!! Also supporting the ridiculous sentiment from the manager that - we arent coffee drinkers! In otherwords, if you dont like it go someplace else!! Ok! I will!
I am from the east coast. Where stores are competitive and want your business. The message I got from this place was we value only our locals who are apparently NOT coffee drinkers.
Also i have been in there numerous times when the store doesn't turnthe outside lights on. When i mentioned oit to the mangaer he said they will be closing soon anyway and wasnt concerned.
So its hard to tell if the store is opened or closed after dusk.

I really like our Safeway, however, they should carry all basic needs. I would like them to carry nasal strips again please

Extremely poor customer service, went to the deli ordered a couple items was asked if I needed anything else stated I needed some cheese sliced, The associate helping me then struck up a conversation with a co- worker and started working on their order, I asked about my order and was informed that they would get to it when done with the associates order. How does this make sense ?Finish the order you start first then work on the next order.

This Safeway used to be so nice. It's just silly anymore. I've gone 3 times now and picked up a chocolate cake. All three times it has been yellow cake. When BOTH stickers said "Choclolate" I would call and tell them ,but they really don't care...guess I havta find another place for cakes in town. The bakery used to be nice.
