Looking for something different on our way to Omaha and saw this on the map. Drove by because there is no sign on the road. Turned around, went down the drive and came to an old house with a small 'open' sign in a small window...about 1 and no other cars around. Went around to the front and they were just opening up. Ordered their special burger, wife had the cheeseburger and we sat outside by the river in the shade of huge trees....it was a hot day but it was pleasant on the patio. Food was fresh and good and you cannot beat the patio. No one else there when we left...fair going on in town down the road and the waitress said the heat and the fair was why they were slow, but they were going to have a band the next week end on the patio. Still I cannot understand why this place is not busy all the time.

Came back a second time. Thinking it couldn't be worse. Well it was. The bartender was extremely rude, should be fired. Took about 30 minutes to place a food order. The food is way over priced, for what limited menu, I mean 9 bucks for a frozen corn dog? The place was very pretty years ago. The owners clearly have a drinking problem and have not bothered to fix up the property. (They pop in intoxicated yet friendly)We were shocked it was still open in the condition it was in. They should invest the money they make of their over priced drinks back into the place. New tables and chairs, fixing trip hazards, and training staff to be friendly to customers. Health Department needs to check this place out. We won't be returning. A hedge trimmer out front and and around the building would show you care about your business not run it into the ground. Only and I mean only thing is the river.

We went to Platte River State Park on Labor Day and want to try a different restaurant near the area. It took so long for our food to be served. I don't know if its because if we are being profiled or just because I am Asian. I feel so disrespected. My daughter was so hungry and almost cried from hunger. I will never come back to this restaurant.

A 12 ounce beer cost $6.90. The alcohol is way too overpriced and the food is terrible. Year, after year, terrible. The only good part about Heron Bay is watching the live music while enjoying the view of the Platte. A lot of the outdoor chairs are broken but still sitting out to be used. The fence along the Platte is falling apart and covered in rust. It doesn't appear that the people in charge of Heron Bay care about creating a welcoming clean environment for people to fully enjoy. It's a shame because people see how unpleasant this place is and never come back. Be sure to eat and drink before you arrive to watch music. 7/13/24.

Decided to go to some dive bars and this one fit the bill. Lovely view of the river a little noisy with the highway next to it. They're pretty proud of their drinks as the prices were steeper than what you would suspect

Fun place to hang out but you may need to go in and order. Every time we go here a server comes by but not often. So if you know that going in, it’s fun. Great for groups and change of pace. Has food and small menu changes.
Awesome chill place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s like a trip to a family member’s house by the river. Good beer is often best shared with good company.

Ok, this place is one of my favorites. They have a nice outdoor seating area right on the Platte River. They have bands often on the weekends. They have very friendly servers and the owner is amazing. Their food is good "bar food" but I will tell you, they have my #1 favorite sandwich that is like a Reuben but made with pastrami. They don't have it on the menu often, but boy when they do, you're in for a real treat.
