Excellent food! We had the fajitas and they were probably the best we had! A lot of food for the price and the prices are very reasonable. Clean, friendly staff. We'd highly recommend going! We'll definitely be back!!!

The waitress was wonderful! The restaurant nice and clean...

My husband likes his enchiladas but the meat was a little dry.

I ordered the tortilla soup. It smelled wonderful but was Sooo salty I couldn't eat it. I tried adding sour cream. Nope!
The waitress offered to get me something else and suggested a fried taco. The meat was salty too. It was ok with sour cream.
Someone else may have a totally different experience!
BTW - They Do Not have any container adequate for taking home soup! Or not as much as was in my bowl anyway.
That is a whole other tale! Oy!

This was my first time eating at this new restaurant. The staff are very friendly and the overall atmosphere is very inviting. I enjoyed the Tuesday Taco special and a delicious pitcher of watermelon-peach margaritas.

If you are looking for an enjoyable, sit down dining experience in Waverly, I would highly recommend checking out El Portal.

This is a cute little Mexican restaurant! We were greeted kindly! Our server was very patient with us as we looked over the menu! Our food came out fast and hot! Perfect portions and very flavorful! We loved the chips! Very crispy and warm!!!

Great experience in June 2024, party of three at 6pm. We were seated right away. Great menu - lots of options and family-friendly. One margarita ordered - it was a little too watery. Chips and salsa were top-notch. Food was delivered to our table within a reasonable time, warm, on a hot plate and had delicious sauces, nicely colored lettuce and all the fixings. Our server was friendly and checked on us multiple times. No issues, no drama, just a very pleasant dinner in a casual venue.

I have been in to dine twice now and ordered to go once tonight, it’s fair to say El Portal is amazing! My favorite thing I’ve tried so far is the enchilada Jalisco, but everything else has been delicious as well. Love the guacamole and Margaritas! They also have options for the picky eaters in my family. The staff are so friendly and the service is fast. The menu is large and a bit overwhelming, but I’m excited to try more things on it. I’m so grateful to have El Portal here in Waverly!
