Mountain trout wasn't tasty. No seasoning, it had a bland taste. Vegetable soup was very good. Service was good.

Stopped here for lunch when we were on the way to Iowa. Ordered salad bar, which was small but decent. They had fresh fruit, which was nice. Cubed ham would be better than shredded deli ham. Asked to upgrade to French onion soup instead of ham & bean or veggie beef that comes with salad bar. Instead of an upcharge, I was charged for the full cup of soup. Bummer, but okay if the soup is good. Unfortunately, the soup was very underseasoned and was just about room temperature - pretty gross. Husband’s French onion soup was the same. Waiter did not ask why we did not eat the soups. Husband ordered fried chicken. Dark meat (thigh) was delicious - almost like mom used to make. White meat crust was also great - the meat itself could have been more moist, but overall pretty good. It felt like we were an imposition when we arrived and waiting for a seat. Waiter did a good job keeping drinks refilled.

My bf and I have been here a few times and the only thing we ever order is the prime rib. It is so delicious! We have also been through the prime rib buffet which was also really good and had lots of side dish choices. This is the place to go for the best prime rib in York.

Meal was average. Soup was the best. Prime rib very chewy. Server was ok but not over the top. Wine not high quality. Hostess was extremely brusque to the point of being rude. She was rude when I called to make the reservation, rude when she seated us and apparently we were bothering her when we paid. Not the old Chances R we used to know. May be our last visit. We drove 350+ miles for this. Won’t make that mistake again!

Ribeye special and Husker cut prime rib. Salad, homemade rolls, baked potato, chili, and carrot cake for dessert. It's been quite a while since our last visit. We won't wait very long again.
