This establishment offers a classic American dining experience, reminiscent of Country Kitchen or Perkins, yet with a more individualized approach. It provides a sense of comfort without the typical franchise feel. Having dined here on multiple occasions and sampled various menu items, I can confirm that the quality has consistently met expectations. While I wouldn't characterize the food as aggressively exceptional, it consistently delivers a deeply satisfying comfort. The service is notably efficient and timely, with dishes arriving hot and freshly prepared. The waitstaff are attentive without being intrusive, and the pricing is commensurate with the value received. I would rate this establishment 11 out of 10 and intend to be a returning patron.

Had the ribeye breakfast. It actually looked like the photo in the menu. Cooked just the way i wanted. Eggs and hash browns were good, and the pancakes were good and fluffy. Definitely a good place to eat in York.

Angry old woman yelling at me that they close at 3: PM when I walked in at 3:20 for a simple cheeseburger order.
I called at 1 : PM and the nice girl on the phone said they close at 4: PM. This is why small “mom & pop” places aren’t around anymore. Because the lazy “mom and pops” only open when they feel like it and close down for the day whenever they feel like it. 👎👎

This will be an Indian restaurant very soon I guarantee it. At least it will be consistent if it is Indian owned.

Good flavor and nice staff.

The pulled pork burger was the best thing about coming to Nebraska!

Chicken straps and fries. The grease tasted old.

Just a little pricey....

Food is great, but why pretend you serve breakfast but don't open till 9:30 everyone is at work or on the road from the motels before then.

The Kitchen is a great place to eat. Breakfast, lunch or dinner! Great "mom &pop" style food, the staff is very friendly and attentive. Charity was very nice to us when we first moved to York and helped us get set up with important phone numbers and things. Even if you just go in for a coffee, it's a great, friendly atmosphere. I'd recomend anytime!

Typical diner style menu. The portions were decent, and the food wasn't bad. We had a half grilled cheese with a salad, and a fish and chips.

Food was flavor less. We ordered breakfast. Pancakes were bland. The sausage links were deep fried instead of cooked on the flattop. My daughter had a chefs salad and the ham was slimy with a fatty texture. Even the ham was burned when it arrived to our table.

The worst hot beef I've ever had. Burnt toast, tasteless gravy and beef and raw red onions for some reason.

First off the food is wonderful! However, the service was even better. I dined alone so I had the liberty of People Watching and I must say the way the staff greeted everyone that came in the door was inviting and wholesome. Lots of regulars stopped by and each interaction made my curmudgeonly heart smile. Keep up the good work and I hope to be back soon.

This place is excellent. I ate there Saturday night & went back late Sunday morning. All the locals were there so that tells ya right off it’s good. Saturday I had the Reuben with mushrooms & homemade thousand island. The best Reuben in ages. The meat was juicy. Nice amount of sauerkraut. The rye bread was done perfectly. Most places over cook the bread & you’re just shy of cutting your gums it’s so hard. Not here. Just right. Sunday I had a ham & cheese omelette with American & a bowl of incredible chicken noodle soup instead of hash browns. I do indeed recommend The Kithchen to anyone coming thru.

Roast beef melt and a cup of soup. While both were tasty, both could have been warmer.
Business needs some background music.
