I’m not a fan of the new kiosk-heavy process—but honestly, that part can be overcome. What can’t be ignored is the attitude shift. When I asked for a real mug instead of a disposable cup, I got a sideways look from food prep staff like I’d asked for something unreasonable.
That’s a shame, because this place used to be packed at 9am. Now it’s noticeably quieter—and it’s not hard to see why. Most of those former regulars are probably over at Pressed Café, where customer service still seems to matter.
Credit where it’s due: the avocado toast is solid. I’ll give that 4 stars.
But service matters. Culture matters.
VC ownership may have optimized the process, but it clearly drained the soul.
Do better, Panera.

We had not been to Panera for some time and were very disappointed when we went for coffee, bagel, and pastry for almost $16. The redecorating is stark and cold. I miss the coziness of the comfy chairs by the fireplace. The booths have been redesigned and do not give the privacy they once did.
With all that said, I had the worst bagel I can remember (and I buy store bought ones. ). It had very little substance and was tasteless.
I had always loved Panera, but that Panera is gone. We won’t be returning.

They charge too much money for a single sandwich to take so long to complete the order. I think most of the staff was working hard. But the process seems super ineffective. Their food is overrated. It’s okay.

Very disappointed. Order a large green goddess’s salad with chicken to go $15.72. Got home it was the size of a side salad with 2 small pieces of chicken. I will never be back. NEVER

This the slowest Panera within a 3 hour drive
Always a 10 minute wait for my empty coffee cup in the morning. There's often nobody behind the pick-up counter.
Today I ordered at the kiosk in an empty restaurant, then waited at the empty counter for a few minutes & then told the guy at the register i ordered coffee but nobody was at the counter. I had to play 21 questions (including 4 rounds of 'Whats your name?') before he would give me my coffee cup.
Night employees seem to have more awareness
In comparison to Concord Panera, there's a lot of room for improvement. Concord always has several people behind the counter & they will usually streamline drink-only orders.
They need help. Scattered staff food cold and dissapointing

If I could give this zero stars if that was an option. Years ago, this was a great place to come and run by an amazing manager. However not anymore.
So I come in at twelve only to meet a friend, otherwise I wouldn't step place in this disgusting restaurant again (and how I judged, that was because ninety percent of the tables weren't cleaned off after the last person left). And at noontime, it wasn't busy, and there were plenty of people just hanging out doing nothing
I tried t try to order an asiago bagel but of course, they have none, and their baker doesn't come in until two p m. Now, why would you think that was OK?
Wouldn't you think you would have the baker who is also in training and doesn't know much about bagels., I'm told, come in early in the morning and since that's their most popular bagel, make more of them???
Whoever is managing should be ashamed to even keep the doors open.
I would rather go to the popular coffee place down the street or save my pennies and go to the really popular place down the street or make coffee at home and buy a bag of bagels had to be better than wasting gas and time to come here

Good service! The young woman who took my order was very friendly and helpful.
The bear claw I ordered tasted processed but okay. Every bite, the frosting and almonds fell off. Coffee ☕ tasted okay.
Update: June 2025; Ordered online. The Smokehouse BBQ Chicken 🐔 Sandwich 🥪, Bistro, Onion 🧅 Soup 🍲 and Chocolate Chipper Cookie were good 👍.
The inside has plenty of seating. Comfortable armchairs. Fireplace and WiFi available.

Place was empty. Still no one at the counter. It seems no you need to order at the kiosk and get your own cup. Just had a coffee. The food is overrated and the coffee is on par.

Double check your orders, picked food up for my house. Get home and get ready to eat, only to find my sandwich was poorly made. I ordered a chicken blt avocado sandwich. I had 2 leafs of lettuce. No bacon and no Avocado. I’m 40 minutes away from this store they tell me to go back to have it remade. This should not have happened to begin with. The receipt is signed that it was checked, clearly it wasn’t.

I visit this place frequently, but I cannot for the life of me, figure out their pricing... I'm here with family.. was looking for a simple snack.. so I thought maybe some mac and cheese: 11$ before tax... for a small paper bowl..???
how is that even possible?
