Where to begin...went on a Saturday night for first time going. They didn't offer there dinner menu only pub menu with apps and sandwiches. Band started around 7 and were ok butchered a few songs but all right. Food was passable nothing special. Something you'd expect from a small cafe not restaurant.

Now under new management and is no longer worthy of the name Top of the Town! We are very disappointed tonight. We decided to go with open minds and boy was that a mistake. First off, I get it, these folks are new at the business and it's obvious. The charm of the interior is gone, plain gray walls with some random photos and missing receptacle covers, then the food.. ugh. My wife ordered seafood fettuccine which tasted so bad she passed on it after the first bite. We took it home to let others try and the response is unanimous. Terrible. I ordered the prime rib, the meat was. It tasty at all and the rice?!? Was supposed to be pilaf but was actually white rice soaked for(what tasted like days) in chicken broth. The Top of the Town is no longer. They should have changed the name as so many will be disappointed! There are many great restaurants in the area, unfortunately, this is no longer one of them. Don't waste your money here. It's truly unfortunate..

If you like generous amounts of time to sit and question your life, I recommend this place. I asked for a minute to look at the menu and they gave me 20! It was great! We ordered apps and we've been waiting about 30 minutes and counting. Clorox sounds good right about now! I dont know what the food is like, haven't gotten it yet, oh wait, here it is, it's good.

I went there ONCE, and never again. I saw nothing but overweight men drooling as soon as i walked in. Drunk is not the word for how much these men drank. It's not the place for a Lady and certainly not for a Gentleman.

What an interesting little place. My friends and I decided to go skiing, but they couldn't make it til Saturday. I came up Friday night, and I was considering going to Pat's for dinner before heading to the cabin. I noticed the sign for this place on the side of the road, and for the hundredth time thought to myself, "I should really check that place out some time." On a whim, I hung the right and made my way to the restaurant. Walking in, I felt like I was walking in to someone's house. The place was probably decorated in 1997, but it was comfortable. The average age was definitely 10-20 years older than the average age at Pat's. I got seated at a table in the bar, which was fine by me because I was solo. Everyone at the bar seemed to know everyone else. The bartender had made brownies and everyone was scarfing them down and talking about how good they were. Going along with my "try new things" attitude, I ordered the hallibut parmigiana (you hard me right, fish covered in cheese and red sauce) and it was really good. As I ate my dinner and read my book, a singer started to perform, and the place started to get more and more energetic. I probably could have sat there all evening drinking a glass of wine or three and reading and no one would have been upset. I'm pretty certain the older gentleman who was dancing would have probably tried to get me to dance with him, so I left. I will definitely go back here. I'd love to try some of the more traditional meals, because I'm sure that they will be pretty good. I would recommend this to a couple who has been together for a while who wants to go out for a good meal at a place where something interesting and fun might happen.

If you are looking for the "Cheers" restaurant atmosphere - this is the place. it is a family owned restaurant/pub that welcomes the locals as well as the vast number of tourists. The food is excellent with a price to match. The wait staff is very friendly and always accomodating.

My wife and I enjoy fine dining, we like small, quaint, family owned establishments rather than large, chain restaurants. While looking for new places to dine in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, we came across the "Top of the Town Restaurant" in Belmont, N.H. The web site made the establishment look like a place we'd love to try. The table linens, fresh flowers, and picturesque setting with large windows in the "Heart of the beautiful Lakes Region". When we arrived, although NOT a picturesque setting, the parking lot had many cars, which was a good sign that people liked the restaurant. Once inside we were greeted by a young lady who made it appear we had interrupted her dinner, she did promptly seat us in the corner of the room beneath an exhaust fan. The room was dimly lit, there were no windows, and the room dividers were drawn. The noise level from the bar area was rather loud and somewhat obnoxious but tolerable since "we were trying a new restaurant". We ordered drinks and an appetizer; my mixed drink and our appetizer were fine, however my wife's wine tasted as though the bottle had been opened for many days. As for the entree, we ordered the prime rib and coconut haddock, two of their "specialty" offerings. After some time, our entrees arrived, the presentation and flavor were mediocre at best, my wife's haddock was dry and tasteless. As a testament to the quality of our meals we didn't even finish them and declined taking them to go. At this point we had had enough and dessert was out of the question, we asked for our check. Our total for this evening of "fine dining" was $70.00, we couldn't believe it. I would this establishment redo their website to reflect the establishment for what it is, and not, for what they'd like it to be.

Food was pretty good. It was the last night of our vacation in the lakes region and we were glad we stayed and enjoyed the "local" crowd at the bar.

Food very ordinary and bland. Entertainment okay if you like old songs and old style performance.

Top of the Town Restaurant is located on Ladd Hill Road across from the Lakeview Golf Club, about a half mile up the hill off Route 3. This casual restaurant and bar is open for lunch and dinner serving American fare including steaks, seafood, poultry, pasta, salads, soups, and desserts. The prices here are moderate, most lunch items just under $10 and dinner items in the $15-$22 range. Specials are offered which may include Surf & Turf, Orange Glazed Duck, Fried Clams, and Grilled Cajun Ribeye. Early Bird Dinners (4-6, M-F) for $9.95 including Prime Rib, Chicken Parm, Haddock, Scallops, and Stuffed Shrimp are offered. The place has a small bar area in the back corner area and a bright dining room in front. They also offer live entertainment since there are musical instruments nearby. I had dinner here on a typical weekday evening. I arrived here just after 5:15PM and a large party of 11 seniors were arriving too, being seated at a long table in the center of the dining room. I sat near the window and quickly placed my dinner order due to the large party present. I ordered the Early Bird Broiled Scallops ($9.95) served with baked potato, vegetable (cole slaw), and a basket of soft warm bread. 10 minutes later, the food arrived, but I got Fried Scallops instead, which looked pretty good. I did not question the snafu since the waitress was busy and I was hungry and in a time crunch. The breaded scallops did have a bit of a pungent odor, but tasted just fine dipping into tartar sauce. The baked potato was nice and hot with butter and sour cream. The small side of cole slaw was creamy. I finished up my food up as the larger party was just placing their orders (several separate checks over there). I passed on dessert (no prices on dessert menu) and settled up on the check at the bar. Overall, I enjoyed my EB scallops dinner even with the small snafu, and the service was very pleasant.
