We have been dining here for many years during our winter vacation. We feel the quality of the food has declined. The short rib dinner was not cooked to the tenderness you would expect and the portion was small for the cost of the meal.

Always a great meal and I always order the shrimp and scallop risotto. Tonight I was a bit disappointed on 2 levels. My meal had uneven temperature. Some of it was just barely warm and other parts were really hot. And when the bill came, we were charged $32 for it when both the online menu and restaurant menu have it at $28. Hubby was happy with his steak special. Server was excellent.

Had stuffed Haddock. Hot and amazingly well-balanced without having to much stuffing to lose the fish.

Can't say enough nice things about the staff. The food shows how much everyone cares. Great atmosphere.
We dined with other Veterans at the Homestead Restaurant in Bristol, NH the Monday after Veterans Day, and the place was packed. In the past we had done the same at their Laconia Fratello's location; equally excellent. It is such a great evening, enjoying the camaraderie of fellow Vets, and the meal is free to any Veteran. It is such a wonderful gift of appreciation that the McDonough family provide for Veterans, and the Manager at the Bristol location was beaming with the pride he felt for putting on this wonderful meal, and loving gesture. For those Vets who are financially strapped, this is such a blessing, and for those who are not, please give the staff a generous tip as they certainly earn it. Again, thank all of you who put on this gift of gratitude; the Vets salute you for your gracious respect and hospitality.Kindly,Terry MartinP.S. the prime rib dinner and wait staff, were equally outstanding!

The Homestead restaurant is one of the better family restaurants in the area. They have a sizable menu. Plenty of options and a cozy atmosphere. Drinks from the bar. We’re also very good. The bacon, wrapped maple scallops were cooked to perfection, and melted in your mouth. Stuffed haddock was phenomenal. Service was a little on the slow side however, it was busy, and I’m sure like everywhere else in the industry, places are understaffed.
Always dependable
