Came here after a camping trip at Cardigan Mountain and the food was delicious, good ambiance, great service. Food came in like 5 mins and tons of great options including gluten free. Definitely recommend the corned beef egg sandwich

Purple Pit has been a staple now for our family who takes a yearly pilgrimage to the “therapeutic healing properties of Newfound Lake” as we say. Bagels are delicious, with GF options for a wheat averse lady like me. Veggies are fresh, (the tomatoes SO sweet), sausage is yummy, and they even offer Gouda as a cheese for a breakfast sandwich. Fun and tasty custom drinks… and the service is always very pleasant and timely. Decor is earthy funky, and they sell ceramics and other items from local artists. They have concerts as well— one year we enjoyed a fabulous Japanese guitarist who made us cry. Thank you, Purple Pit, for a great Newfound atmosphere and breakfast!

Not happy with this place at all. They didn't want to make a breakfast plate. I said no whip cream on my ice coffee, when it was brought to me I was told she put whip cream on it but realized I didn't want it. I was told she took it off and it should be fine, I won't be able to taste it!! REALLY!!! UPDATE I did not order any food!!

Excellent slow cooked BBQ spot (their Rib Room is open on weekends only right now, the cafe is open regular hours). Super flavorful and moist ribs and brisket, delicious sides (baked beans, corn bread, etc). Generous portion sizes - we were all stuffed by the time we left and brought some home too. Also a good selection of beers on tap and some great cocktails. Really cool decor too! Definitely give them a try!

My husband and I have been there a few times and enjoyed our coffee and egg sandwiches. We will be moving to the area and decided this will be our new breakfast place

Every time that I walk in to the Purple Pit to get my favorite Chai Latte, I am greeted with a warm welcome. It's a cozy atmosphere that is family owned and their food is delicious. The owner Mary, creates beautiful pottery that she sells there as well. There are tables outside so that you can sit in the sunshine and enjoy your hot beverage.

Dietary restrictions: They offer gluten free bread and bagels.
