Dangerous to stay there. Violent thugs roam the parking lot. Scary.

Stayed at the hotel last week. No heat for our first night. We were moved and told someone would contact us, but haven’t heard from anyone after several attempts.

Absolutely perfect! We got the vegetarian/vegan options and loved it. And we had the best views to the golf field and lots of ducks ? Michelle was so nice to us! ??

Vegetarian options: I loved the Veggie Burger! ?

We only came here because we were so tired of the poor quality & service in the other restaurants at the Omni Mt Washington resort that we were desperate for *some* evidence this place knows how to prepare food. This was arguably the worst of the bunch (Rosebrook, Main Dining Room, Stickney’s). As usual, the food was overpriced & poor quality. My alleged “caprese” grilled sandwich comprised a couple of thinly sliced, obviously not freshly grilled chicken, analogously barely-there mozzarella, and some, weird hot tomato concoction on top. The whole thing looked like a toddler had thrown it together and was inedible. As usual, it took an act of god to get any food for my GF daughter; on this occasion, I had purposefully called ahead to ask about GF options and was told they had GF buns, so we figured she’d either get a hamburger or we’d make it work for a hotdog. In the end, no such bun was present, & her food showed up with an over grilled piece of Udi’s thrown into a plate with a hotdog. I don’t believe I’ve ever stayed in a hotel before with such reliably bad food. Communication between the kitchen & servers is poor (they tried to tell us that *all* the bagels in the main dining room breakfast were GF), quality control non-existent (the same dish would come out completely different on consecutive days), presentation bad (school lunches springs to mind). Given the difficulty the hotel appears to have hiring staff (at least 50% are ESL, with various degrees of English fluency), I’m guessing they have a similar problem in the kitchen. This would certainly explain the communication issues. But it is inexcusable for a place charging these prices. Fire the chef, hire somebody from outside who has the ambition to overhaul the entire resort food operation.

Had lunch at the Grille during our stay at the Omni Mount Washington. This restaurant is located right at the golf course clubhouse. It's solid pub food, the restaurant was very busy when we visited so we waited a while for food but our server was excellent. Definitely had a great experience all things considered.

Enjoyed lunch al fresco with a fantastic view of the mountain and the golf course. Double smash burger was reliably good. Staff was accommodating and courteous.

If you like bright and shinny new hotels, this hotel is not for you. If you appreciate ornate woodwork that was created by skilled craftsmen then you need to add this destination to your list. The staff is very hospitable and are available for anything you need. We visited Feb 2023 and the weather was cold but the outdoor heated pool was a hit with my kids. Indoor pool was wonderful as well. I admired the ornate woodwork in the lobby and throughout the hotel. If you read the history of the hotel and look for pictures you will see that the world bank and International Monetary Fund was born here in 1944. Looking at the great hall from that meeting you will see columns, Tiffany glass and light fixtures. They are still exactly the same. The windows in the background are the same windows you see with chains leading to counter weights. This hotel was built in 1901 in the middle of nowhere. There was another hotel on top of mt Washington but that hotel burned down, probably because of the lack of firefighters. Why did this hotel not have this issue in its 122 year history? If you look around there are just fire sprinkler heads everywhere. I read some place that the hotel has 6600 sprinkler heads. This was probably to make up for the non existent fire fighters in 1901. Another thing I loved and admired was the old fire alarm. Now there were defiantly modern fire alarm pull stations and fire alarm horns but every so often you would run into what I think was an original fire alarm. Not sure if it still works and I hope no one ever had to find out but boy did these things look great. I will post a picture of one. Not to take away from other activities, there is the cog railway and Breton woods ski near by.

Food prices so expensive and the quality is not consistent with a four star hotel. Rooms are average and the bathroom is a disappointment. Also thin walls so quite noisy. The picture is my less than ideal prime rib. $60 for the entree and I barely ate it.

Honestly I was a bit disappointed. I want to stay there for years and wasn't what I expected. Only 1 restaurant was open and the menu was limited. But the servers were very nice and helpful. For what they charge you would expect at least a breakfast. Even if it was only coffee and toast.

First of all, the ambience is amazing. Lots of tables around the circular window with nice views and a beautiful square bar in the center of the restaurant. We did not have reservations until 8 PM so we decided to eat at the bar and forgo our reservations. Very glad we did because it was so much fun. The bar has a large surface area, so there is plenty of room to eat and not disturb the people next to you or feel like what’s served is it’s almost in your lap. That was much appreciated. Service was great as all three bartenders took turns helping us throughout our cocktail time and meal. Cocktails are a little high price but not terrible. As to wines, pretty high priced, but the Terrazas Malbec was very good. We began with the lobster cargot appetizer. Lobster chunks in oil and garlic mimicking escargot. So delicious! And of course fresh bread to accompany and dip. My wife was not hungry and only had the acorn squash bisque and said it was delicious! I am not a fan of acorn squash so I am glad she enjoyed it. While it wasn’t recommended by our bartender/server, I opted for the roasted duck. I am so glad I did. It was perhaps almost the best duck I have ever sampled. So delicious and perfectly cooked. The best duck of course is in Fayetteville Arkansas at Bordinos (they fly it in from Indiana). For dessert we decided on the pear and cream sphere. The desserts are all pretty creative and somewhat unusual. This one had a sphere of dark chocolate with ice cream and pear slices. It was a little hard to cut into but it was pretty good. I don’t think I’d have it a second time though. Fantastic evening and we would come back in a second!
