Makris Lobster & Steak House

The service sucked and the food sucked ! Not the old Makris's we used to know.

Our son wanted a lobster roll & this place was recommended. He loved it, but wished it were more for the price. The fried feta bites were delicious along with the rest of our entrees. The waitress was kind & on top of making sure our service was top notch.

Bartender was a rude person didn't even greet us, Until we spoke up cashed everybody out and cleared their plates rather than make our drinks even though we already ordered!!! really slow to make our drinks making a single in a double the same price. Bartender calling me ignorant , because I showed her , her singles in doubles were the same. She did not like that. Manager was great, but bartender needs to find something she enjoys.

We went here for Mother’s Day and had one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. We waited over 20 minutes before anyone even took our drink order. The waitress told us there was “confusion” about whose table we were, but honestly that part didn’t even bother us because I understand things happen and mistakes can be made. She said she would take care of us, and we ordered our drinks and food at the same time.

An hour and 45 minutes later, we still had no food. When we asked the waitress about it, she said she would check but blamed it on them being “so busy” — meanwhile the restaurant was half empty. She never came back. About 15 minutes later we had to ask the hostess what was going on.

Eventually the waitress and manager came over and told us there had been “confusion” and our order never got put in because of a WiFi issue. What completely shocked me was the manager asking if we still wanted them to put the order in at that point. After sitting there for over 2 hours with no food, they still hadn’t even entered the order. A competent manager would have immediately rushed the order through, apologized sincerely, and tried to make things right.

Instead, the manager seemed completely unconcerned and very unprofessional. I’ve worked in restaurants before, and this situation was handled terribly from start to finish. At that point, we opted to leave and go somewhere else. We ended up extremely frustrated and disappointed. I would never go back and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Waitress was good but the food was super disappointing. I had bay scallops, the breading was gross, bland and tasteless and the tarter sauce was awful. Took my 3 year old to the ladies room and the bathroom counter is stained yellow and the door was disgusting. I always heard good things about this place but it was not worth it....wish we just went to Weathervane instead.

My fiancé and I got dinner there last night and he got the clam bake and I got the fried scallops and haddock plate with onion rings. We did take out and when he got home the container that had the haddock, scallops and onion rings didn’t even cover the bottom of the take out container. Now while I know food prices have gone up and servings maybe a bit smaller and everything goes by weight I got a hand full of onion rings and a half of a piece of haddock and 5 sea scallops for 40 dollars. We will not be returning as I can get more for my money elsewhere and just to be clear it taste just as good if not better. For less money. In response to your response I was saying the food didn’t cover the bottom of the container. And as for your response as a business owner I find it very unapologetic as you pay premium prices to eat there to get very little food. I am sorry but onions are not at premium prices so more than a hand full isn’t a lot to ask. Again we will not be returning as the portion size to the cost is way off base. Sorry if you don’t feel the same way. But I can go other places and get fresh seafood with a better helping than what I paid 40 dollars for.
