Quick summary: Wide menu that should please most with apps, hand-helds, salads, and mains. Full bar. Reasonable prices. Friendly, professional staff. We had been by this place many times in our travels (it is right off the highway) and finally got a chance to stop. We had lunch here, so up front, the lunch and dinner menus have many common items, but the dinner menu has more main dish items in the fish and steak categories. Still, both lunch and dinner menus provide enough choice for most. First plates/apps are mostly in the $10-12 range, and include things like flatbreads, dips, escargots. Soups about $5 for a cup, $9 a bowl. Large variety of salads, mostly in the low $teens, add more for proteins. (Steak tip salad $25). Burgers and hand-helds in the mid-high $teens. Large plates with appropriate sides/veg are generally in the $20's. First, there is complimentary cheese and crackers that you are invited to serve yourself. A nice nibble to start. It was lunch and we did not want a heavy meal, so we did not order the delish looking pot roast or pot pie, which seem to be the favorites of many around us. I recommend you come hungry enough to order those. Instead, one sister had a bowl of the lobster corn chowder $12.49) which was very good, with nice chunks and taste of lobster. My other sister and I had cups of the soups of the day (cream of chicken and veg, $4 a cup.) We both agreed that it was too salty. We split the chicken gyro that was good, but not great. The pita was soft, warm, and fresh; the chicken nicely grilled, nice lettuce and tomato. It fell short as they were pretty stingy with the yogurt sauce, and the chicken tasted a little bland. A few more herbs would have been nice. A good, but not great choice. IT was lunch - we just had water to drink. I get the sense that I would rate this place higher with a 5-dot if we had ordered the main dish meals of pot roast, chicken pot pie, or fish, burger, or steak dishes, but the lunch was again, good, not great. Full bar with a range of beers, wines, cocktails. Wines by the glass are $10 or less for a nice pour. Friendly, helpful, professional staff. So again, we'd likely try this place again, but order differently.

We were really looking fwd to trying this new restaurant (to us) during our short wkend away in Concord, NH. It's decorated so nicely outside for fall & we even took pics. Unfortunately, after entering — that experience was diminished. From the moment we walked in (earlier today), the older hostess was rude & not just to us but to others waiting as well. It was uncalled for & in turn set the tone/mood making other things stand out as well — all because of her lack of hospitality. Whether she's simply tired of her job, they're short staffed or whatever, that's no excuse for coldly greeting guests — not even saying hi, especially when they’re new to the area & the restaurant's operational guidelines.

The younger staff members were polite & trying their best, but the whole place felt chaotic & lacked cohesion. The food didn’t make up for it either. For the high prices, the quality was subpar — some of it cold, some undercooked & even the dessert had a weird texture inside part of it & it tasted like old refrigeration. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when your first impression & the food fall short.

Overall, the restaurant could really use better staff etiquette/conduct, food prep/safety & cleanliness — including some of the overhead decor.
Bottom line is when a business lacks professionalism & the price to quality ratio is poor, the food simply feels like 'bad value' for the money $pent. We won’t be returning, which is a shame, because the place — could be so much more with better managerial skills.

When we found out that one of our favorite restaurants does catering, we knew we had to hire them to cater our wedding. The food was absolutely delicious and left our guests raving about it! The prices were also reasonable, and the service was exceptional. We recommend the Common Man Concord for all your catering needs!

The restaurant and our server were great (Gwen). I was very eager to try a famous New England Restaurant. The restaurant is welcoming and homey, easy to feel comfortable, even with a 30 minute wait on a weekday. Server met us, very friendly and warm. Southwest corn chowder appetizer was absolutely wonderful. Entrees were all unfortunately poorly cooked. The Mac and cheese burger was so dry and over cooked it was crunchy. The crunchy pork was blackened from the fry. This wasn’t crunchy, it was just burnt. The Nantucket pie was a little bland and shrimp was still grey and undercooked. The scallops were soggy. Fortunately the lobster was flakey and haddock too. The vegetables were a highlight, perfectly cooked and so delicious.

The night for the cook was obviously off, so I might try them again but I was disappointed with the quality of the food served.

Had a doozy of an experience here.

I called ahead before arriving and asked if there was a wait for a party of 2 and was told it was 45 minutes if I walked in, but would be less than that if I put my name on the call ahead list. Made no sense, but I put my name on the list. Arrived 5 minutes later and checked in and was told a 25 minute wait. An hour later, I went back to the desk to enquire about how much more time it would be. Miraculously, the table was available immediately.

Sat at the table and the waiter took a while (maybe 15 minutes) to come over to us. We put in our drink order and insisted we put in our food order so we didn't have to wait again. A while later (maybe 15 minutes again) the waiter comes back with our waters and a beer that was ordered. Food arrives from kitchen staff about 10 minutes after that and then our waiter is just missing for about 45 minutes.

When the waiter reappears he gives us the check. Didn't ask about dessert, how the food was, if we needed more drinks, nothing. I scrambled to give him my credit card, because who knows when we would see him again. He comes back promptly with the card and receipt and we leave.

The front of the house of this restaurant seems like it's in shambles. The manager was getting called by other patrons at tables all around us. I'm just shocked at how poor the service was.

The food was okay. I had the meatloaf and it was chewy...doesn't seem right. My wife had the pot pie, the crust was amazing. The crackers and cheese seemed a little suspicious with no real way to dip up your crackers besides using a napkin. I enjoyed the rolls.
