Went to the car show. It may have been an open house because we had full access to the businesses in the building. In addition to viewing the cars on display, we were allowed to walk through the work areas and view in process projects. Live music was good and while I didn't sample it, food was being served out of the kitchen in the closed Far Out Diner. The weather was threatening rain which eventually arrived but the cars on display filled the parking lots.

I’ve been here twice now, that should say enough. I really enjoy the throwback feel of this place. Service is always fast and friendly. The food is good, I’ve had two of the subs, second one was a Korean spicy (I think) don’t remember the first one. I would recommend checking it out.

Fantastic steak sandwich! We both had the Big Tony...the bomb! Nice fresh subroll, quality of steak was right there. So many things we want to try. Service staff was friendly and helpful. Cozy and welcoming place and with outdoor seating. Had a freshly made shake...been a million years! We are soooo going back!

Excellent comfort food, large portions, very friendly staff, fun decor. My wife and I split a slow roasted pork Cubano sandwich, Griddled Caramel honey butter cornbread, Crispy parmesan shrooms with blue cheese dip, Buffalo fried cauliflower, and had to take some home. Will definitely be back to try other items the next time we are in Dover.

Went due to a friend's recommendation. I am critical on food. The sub roll was fresh. There was plenty of meat, and I did not get one piece of gristle. The cheese was melted and well mixed with all the meat and vegetables. I would not wrap it up as they did as the paper got wet and the cheese stuck to it causing a bit of a mess. The sandwich was very tasty, hot, and filling. I had the MPO and really enjoyed it. It's a bit out of the way, but worth the trip.

Returning from Maine, I came in via Oak Street. I came to HotRod City, the small plaza where Earl’s Steak Sandwiches is located along with Paintworks, Lee Custom Cycle, and Ralph’s House of Tone. HotRod City was having its Thursday Cruise Night from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Since I like classic and antique cars, I stopped to attend. Show cars took up 90% of the parking in front of all the businesses. One classic car of interest was a green Corvette Stingray. I also liked a 31 Ford and a 32 Ford that had been rebuilt into a street rod. There was a well-maintained 1932 Ford, a Deuce Coupe that also caught my attention. Inside Earl’s Steak Sandwiches, gone was the alien and space themed décor from the days of the Far Out Diner. The new décor was more in line with its location: HotRod City. Orders were coming out of the kitchen every few minutes. Some classic car enthusiasts I knew were there. I saw their food orders. I regretted having eaten at the Weathervane in Kittery. The Cheese Steak was $12.00; the Cherry Bomb was $14.00; a Pastrami Reuben was $12.00. All looked great. Between the cars out front and food, I rate Earl’s Steak Sandwiches and HotRod City at 5.0. If you found this review helpful, please click THANK below.
