My 10-year-old wanted to go for dinner and he asked the host if we could sit by the window. We were told no even though there were several tables open. Asked for a manager and the manager told us no that's not how they do it.

We’ve been there twice in the past two weeks and the service was terrible We had to ask for an extra plate because we were sharing a meal. Waited for that server didn’t ask if you wanted refills waited for our check for about 15 minutes. Beautiful view and the food was good but the service was terrible. said something to the people upfront about the service they didn’t really acknowledge us.

Very expensive for whay they serve you and very unhealthy food. I ordered a Lobster pie and it was pretty much flooded with butter and they still give you extra butter on the side in case it wasn't enough. Service was friendly bit the waitress forgets about you once you get your food. Not worth it.

We ordered the lobster pie and lobster au gratin. It was basically the same thing. Lobster pie was overly buttered. The lobster au gratin was a better choice. Both plate read market price. Plate are rather steep in price for what you get in presentation, flavor and taste. Unfortunately, I would not eat either again. Waitress and staff were nice. View of small lake was nice also.

Have not been to Newicks since the 1980’s. Grew up in Dover. Always great there. Stopped on the way home last night. Our bill came to $89 for 2 people. The shocker was the cost of my combo 6 scallops and 12 clam plate. Market Price. Make sure to ask the price! The tasteless greasy small cardboard plate costs $50!!! I could not believe it. The clams were so chewy I had to spit 6 of them in a napkin. It was like eating pieces of rubber. I felt robbed. We will never go back… not with other amazing seafood that is served right in Portsmouth. The staff was very nice. I also appreciate all the history and stories about the famous Newicks . But from now on I will smile looking at the outside and location but will never step inside to eat.

This was a nostalgic return trip for my husband, but it was my first time, and let me tell you.... OMG... The food was AMAZING ? I had the lobster pie. HIGHLY recommend. The service was fabulous and the view was awesome! My brother in law and his wife couldn't get enough either. He was in love with the oysters ? The scallops were giant and the thick clam chowder is TO DIE FOR! Highly recommend! You won't be disappointed! Shout out to Charisma, our server, who is super sweet and excellent at her job ❤️

If your from the seacoast you know what your getting from newicks. I've been coming here since I was a kid and I take my kids here now. It's a great place to take your kids consistent food great drinks. (Try the rum bucket). I love their gulf shrimp. Just an all around staple for anyone that grew up around here they have never let me down in the past 20+ years I've been coming here.
