Underwhelming portion size and food quality for the price. The bruschetta had 3 cherry tomatoes and 2 cherry tomato sized pieces of mozzarella. The $30 risotto had 4 overcooked and gritty scallops with a heaping pile of obviously microwaved green beans. Maybe they do better with their target demographic, but it certainly doesn't compare to most restaurants in Dover. I should have realized why the place was dead when I went.

So this rating of the Roost is the average of two visits. The first visit was for lunch. The sandwiches were excellent and the service was good. We sat at the bar and the overall experience was a 5. We decided to return a couple of weeks later. This time we sat outside. The little area was nice. The service was very slow. It took a good 10 minutes for anyone to even come out. We ordered a drink and two apps. The drinks again came out very slowly. The food took even longer. The coconut shrimp really didn't have any coconut that we could see or taste, and they were over cooked. The cauliflower bites were also over cooked and were ever so bland. They drizzled some sort of sauce over them but they were very dry. We wanted to ask for some additional sauce but nobody ever returned to check on us. This visit was a 1. We will give them another try for lunch in hopes that the app night was an anomaly.

We had a wonderful time. Eat and talked for hours it seemed. Or service was top notch and food was spot on.

Might have okay food in a coolish place but the wait staff today at lunch went out of their way to take an incredible amount of time to do anything. Pretty sure the intent is to waste your time.

We were so dissatisfied in Roost! I had been there once before with a friend for lunch. We chose roost for a family birthday dinner, because everyone had something they loved on the menu. Our server was also the bartender. It took a long time to get our first beverages. We ordered the appetizer of fried lobster ravioli, and that took forever. We were put off while she changed the keg. For pieces we received four pieces, so overcooked. Our server returned to our table to tell us what our son ordered was no longer available. When I Sauce had gone there previously for lunch there were five items that were not available. Our service was super slow. I ordered a wedge salad with steak. It came with two extremely small steak medallions that were overcooked. Our daughter ordered seared scallops with risotto and a side salad. The small seared scallops came out with green beans. We got our risotto at the end of the meal when everyone was finished. She was offered a free dessert. So extremely dissatisfied we will never return.

We hosted a family event in their semi-private dining space. The food was enjoyed by all, prices were fair, and the service was excellent. From booking with Kate to the bartender & server, we were well cared for. Thanks Roost!

Nothing Special. Expensive for what you receive. Did not appreciate the improperly prepared asparagus, focused on decor rather than taste.

Server was nice, food was terrible. I couldnt believe they served what they did. I was excited to go but the fish tacos were completely dry and cold, they don't have salsa in the restaurant. All the tacos the table orderd seems to be sitting out cold and flavorless. The scallops someone ordered seemed better so maybe just really don't get any of the tacos. They say sauce and slaw but just a few cold pieces of cabbage on a cold tortilla. Extremely disappointing.
