Been here a few times with no issues when we had male bartenders. The last time we had a female bartender and she was horrible! She charged almost $200 for 2 drinks that we never asked for (something that expensive obviously.) Took completely advantage and thought she was funny… Sadly we will never be back because of her. The owners definitely need to work with their employees to teach them how to keep customers, not chase them away!

I go in there steady since August 2024. The current management and new staff are fantastic. They’re making changes to the humidor and have lowered prices. I highly recommend.

I've always had a pleasant time here and never had any issues until today. I walked in just after 2 to have a cigar and drink with my wife... there were two people working and they told me she would not be ready until 4p, they open at 12p ... I also asked if they had a cigar I've bought there a few times and the guy said they don't carry it, then tried to back pedal when I told him I've purchased it there and at the Portsmouth location... just a bummer since I've spent a lot of money on cigars and have been there a lot... I couldn't find a manager's contact info, otherwise I would have reached out directly.

The Slow Burn Lounge in Dover has become a regular part of our week, and the most comfortable atmosphere for someone new to the area. My husband and I have made some GREAT connections here, and it doesn't hurt that George is a FANTASTIC bartender. I can't tell you enough about his world-class cocktails!

Take the time to enjoy the bar, the aesthetic rocks and it's not snooty or unapproachable like some bars. Even if you don't smoke, give the bar a chance, and say hi to George for me

We have been regulars at both the Portsmouth and Dover locations for years now. The Dover location has now more than 5 separate times been closed over an hour early by James C. He has been very unprofessional and always uses the excuse “it’s been dead all day”. He has turned away the two of us, another couple, and a group of four simultaneously because of the same reason (all money lost for himself and the business) We have a great relationship with all of the other bartenders at both locations, but the amount of times the doors been locked and closed prematurely by him now is unacceptable. We find ourselves not bothering to even go during the week because it’ll probably be closed over an hour early. Hopefully this track record improves in the near future.
