steak quesadilla was no more than 3/16" thick and had almost zero steak in it. mostly cheese.
and it tasted like haddock
we all asked for sides of tater tots and got laughed at by the owner as if we didnt know how to order food. he was surprised and flabbergasted that all 5 of us wanted our own separate sides of tater tots and acted as if we were crazy for ordering it.
so our tots came in a basket. not one single tater tot in tater tot shape. seemingly spitefully smashed and smushed as if someone pre chewed them.
no amount of ketchup could take away the smell and taste of whitefish from that tater tots.
has potential to be something good to hit on the trail, but needs some very easily attainable improvement.
I'll stick to going to cotes, border jumpers, Dave at the northland, and the buckrub.

We were hesitant at first to stop at this little hole-in-the wall, but SO glad we did! The weather was beautiful, so we sat on the deck. The food was outstanding, and service was truly over the top! One of the best burgers I’ve eaten, and the crispy tots were perfectly delicious. My wife’s wrap with maple mayo was also excellent. Not one negative. The staff were so friendly and helpful! Hopefully we can return next year.

We stopped here while out on the ATVs and really liked our lunch. We both got the steak and cheese with fries and would go back and get the same thing next time. Place is tiny, but they have outdoor seating as well if it’s nice out. Waitress was nice as well. What more can you ask for.

Big Al’s is a nice place. I like it. It’s rather small but clean with a good atmosphere. Like a boutique restaurant without the guy in a tuxedo. No violins or mariachi band either. It’s rustic and unique. Pleasant owners. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The main dining area has bench type seating. I’d prefer individual tables, but it’s comfortable. There is comfortable table seating and seating at the bar in the bar area.
They have a good selection of bottled beer. No draft beer. Bummer, eh! They really need to get draft beer. The menu has a small selection to choose from and it is a little expensive but the quality is really good and worth the price. Good burgers featuring, of course, the Errol Burger. Good stuff. They feature chicken, steak and sea food for dinner. Bring the family!
Their specialty, at least from my perspective, is their pizza. Way good. I mean way, way good! You can build your own or choose one of their specialty pizzas. Oh yeah!
I’d be remiss if I did not mention Big Al’s wait staff. They are friendly, efficient and cute. Give your waitress a good tip!
Big Al’s is a good 4-star rating. The 5th star will come when they get draft beer.
