Toll Booth Tavern is a spacious restaurant with a menu offering a variety of choices and generous portion sizes. Standout dishes include fish and chips, fried pickles, chicken stir fry, steak and cheese sub, and onion rings. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh local ingredients and is known for its engaging local clientele. It is housed in a historic building over 300 years old. The atmosphere is great, with plenty of seating and no waiting times. The big menu features many great options, including a great kids menu. Guests often enjoy soft baked pretzels with cheese sauce, which are considered incredible, as well as baked haddock nuggets, fries, and spaghetti for the kids. The burgers are highly recommended, especially the black and blue burger, cooked to perfection with excellent bun and aioli, often enjoyed with onion rings added on top. The salmon Caesar salad is also appreciated. The restaurant offers a variety of local beer options on tap. Despite occasional delays, such as forgetting a French onion soup during busy times, guests leave satisfied, especially after enjoying outside seating with a nice view of the hillside golf hole. The staff is welcoming and helpful, making it a popular spot for events like baby showers. Its convenient location near Crotched Mountain Ski Area and golf course makes it a highly recommended choice for locals and visitors alike.
